Tried this place on my sister's recommendation. It is unique and anything but ostentatious. Blue jeans and work shirt is absolutely appropriate. The history of the place is as interesting as the ambiance. The ribeye was quite large, but a bit pricey. It was quite good, tender and tasty. A... read more

I don't often want a completely carnivorous meal, but when I do, Doe's hits the spot! Tamales were fantastic, the ribeye we split was perfection, the fries dipped in the steak juice were scrumptious. The atmosphere was energetic, friendly and everyone there was having a good time. Charmingly seedy as always.

This place is so nasty. I will not dine in this place any more. And when we asked the waitress for a menu she said they didn't have one. So we asked what types of steaks they had so she told us never told us how much each steak cost. Then she came back with a plate. It had a... More

Doe's in Greenville is a great, run down shack, unique find that you must visit. The Guard out front will tell you to pull around front if you are parked anywhere else. Steak is amazing, and it is definitely an experience. Great historical staple in Greenville. You must go if you have never been.

Not sure I can add any accolades that haven't already been showered on Doe's, but it lived up to everything I had ever heard about it, since my father (who was a native of Greenville) told me about it when I was a boy. I have vague memories of him taking me there when I was last there at age... More

If you come to Greenville you have to eat at Doe's. The steaks taste the same every time - my family has eaten here since it opened in 1941.

Doe's Eat Place is a uniquely wonderful dining experience, and quintessentially Mississippian. No good-natured person will be disappointed.

Like eating at Grandma's house! Grab a beer out of the cooler on the way through the kitchen to your table and enjoy the best shrimp and steak you'll ever eat!

We visited Doe's based on its reputation. The place is pretty much a dump in an area of town that requires a police officer outside the door at night. There is no menu, and your bill comes as a surprise. The steak (a 10 oz. filet) was very good. The salad was wilting iceberg lettuce swimming in dressing and served... More
