Mikeys on the Bayou has hands down the best fried shrimp on the coast, but unfortunately, not a real family place being too close to the bar and loud music. I go there for a fried shrimp fix but nothing else. The baked potatoes are probably a few days old. If they could get rid of the bar it would... More

One of the locals suggested we try Mikies on the Bayou. It was about 15 minutes away and worth the drive. Sitting on the bayou...very pretty area. Generous seatfood platters for $20 are you kidding me? The food was Very good.

Everyone said this place was great, but it really was not, in my experience. The food was EXPENSIVE (i.e., not much under $20) for your basic fried shrimp and fish. I ordered the crab platter, and it was mediocre at best. Next time, I'll go to Aunt Jenny's instead.

The beer is cold and the atmosphere is redneck rustic. Have a dozen oysters and the seafood bread, then follow it off with a shrimp... More

The largest oysters with the best flavor opened right in front of your eyes by the business owner himself. We travel often, eat raw oysters everywhere including - recently (Aug 2, 2009) in VA Beach - but no one can come close to the quality and especially the price of this place. The oysters at several VA Beach Restaurants were... More
