J Broussard’s offers a wide variety of menu items, along with fabulous nightly specials. Everything is always delicious and they often use fresh produce from the Farmers Market when in season. My all time favorite is the pecan pane catfish served with lemon butter. They also have one of the best streaks in town. Be sure to save room for... More

My wife and I ate here on the recommendation of a friend and were not disappointed one bit. The place is on 5th st south, on Main Street right by the princess theater. We walked in at 530 PM on friday night right when the dining area opens and were seated immediately. It was empty then, but filled up while... More

My husband and I ate here for our anniversary. My husband chose the steak, which was fantastic and I chose the shrimp and grits. My meal was good, but I wasn't a big fan of the jelly glaze on the shrimp. It was sweeter than I would have preferred. The setting is very nice and the service was excellent.

Was looking forward to the Cajun Shrimp Toast BUT the bar crowd ordered the last ones available! Never fear, there are other tasty options - the Gumbo was a pleaser along with the crostini of the day. The Veal Jacob had an incredible cream sauce and was quite tender. We were told that a five layer fresh strawberry cake had... More

It was a nice experience overall; given a choice, I would rate it 4.5 stars.... above very good, but just below excellent. I really liked the atmosphere; it was quiet and the background music was pleasant. The walls were a little bare, though; they could do with a few more nice artworks. The food was very good, but it should... More

there are so many things to love about this place, everytime I eat here I find a new thing to love. Be sure to try the shrimp creole, the creole glazed pork chop, and the french onion soup.

Met friends here prior to a football game. Did not know about the restaurant beforehand and was pleasantly surprised. While the choices were typical for a New Orleans style restaurant, the dishes were very tasty and well proportioned. I had the shrimp and grits. While I'm not a grits fan these were cooked perfectly. My wife had the Shrimp Borgonion (sp?)... More

We live in Starkville, but J. Broussards is our favorite restaurant for special occasions. You will be greeted by Mary--the owner of the restaurant (with her daughter). We always order the shrimp toast as an appetizer. Their wine selection is small but good and the service is always great. My favorite entree is the veal medallions. This is almost the... More
