Genuine Old School BBQ

Abe's is a local institution in Clarksdale. The food is consistently good and the service is down home. You get what you expect at Abe's, no fluff and no hassle, just solid BBQ food and no filler.

The ribs were ok; perfectly serviceable, but not stellar. I think if I were to go back, I might think of it as a burger joint that also has BBQ, rather than a BBQ joint with burgers.

Great look and feel from the road, especially the pig-in-a-bow-tie sign. The place was full of happy locals chowing down, and the prices were very reasonable. So what's the problem? Perfunctory service (yes I know it's a road house, but they don't have to forget your order), tasteless iced tea, crappy slaw.

Genuine Mississippi BBQ with really great ribs. Big portions and reasonable cost. The staff is very friendly. I did not ask if they had dry rub ribs, but is so, that will be my next meal there.

We stopped into Abe's after seeing the sign for it. The food was very tasty and not too expensive. We split a pulled pork sammich and some beans. We would definitely go back.

There's a newspaper clipping underneath the clear table cloths that explains Abe's is one of the best places for BBQ. It's right. Some sweet tea and some pulled pork sandwiches was enough to get us back to our Homebase of tupelo.

We ate here recently on a trip to Clarksdale. Abe's is located just at the famous Crossroads where Robert Johnson supposedly sold his soul to the devil, so you'll probably pass by Abe's anyway on the way into or out of downtown Clarksdale. The food is super tasty - the bbq pork deserves its reputation - and very reasonably priced,... More

Drove by Abe's on our way to Ground Zero and decided to try it out. We were glad we did. You are not going to find fine linen as table cloths nor Egyptian cotton serviettes. What you will find is some great BBQ at very reasonable prices. The only thing I can really say about this place is go and... More

Definitely worth a stop. We called in for lunch and loved the food. You can't come to Clarksdale and not try it.
