The [very] heavy rain that started overnight has continued into the morning and is forecast for the afternoon as well. We thought it would be safer to let the morning rush hour go by and relax over a home cooked breakfast at The Delta Amusement Blues Cafe, right in downtown Clarksdale. Our host was in his mid 60's and has... More

So there we were, wandering through downtown Clarksdale, at 11 am on a Monday morning, having just been denied accommodation at the Shack-up Inn where we had stayed the previous night (due to a pre-booked influx of Norwegian musicians). We were hungry and looking for somewhere to stay, and I was hoping to find something tasty and sustaining for what... More

Hard to rate this place, because the food was good--we had a fresh and tasty breakfast. The atmosphere? All I can say is you ought to check it out. Nothing touristy, and a kind of sketchy crowd. If you like local color, go. If you like Cracker Barrel, stay far, far away.

To be honest this is probably the darkest, dingiest place we've ever eaten but the food was surprisingly good. All cooked fresh to order using fresh ingredients. The coffee was nothing to write home about, juice was served in individual cartons.

Quick, fast and easy place to grab a cheap burger. They had a crawfish special going when we were there and people seemed pretty happy about that. Grab and go because they still smoke in here.

Delta Amusement has Good Old Fashioned Home cooked Breakfasts with all the refills you want on Coffee & Tea. They use Fresh Farmed eggs & Large thick peppered Bacon slices that don't shrink up during cooking. You can really taste the difference. Its just like visiting your Momma's Home Kitchen! You can also, (like home) get up & help yourself... More

Had breakfast here twice while in Clarksdale for 3 days, I LOVE the cheese omelets and the grilled toast! Hashbrowns are good but I like the grits better. Would like half and half for the coffee and not nondairy dry creamer, but that seems to be rather prevalent in the south. Friendly people, great prices, $11 or $12 for a... More

Walking into Delta Amusement Cafe is like stepping back in time several decades. It's a no frills cafe with basic comfort food offerings. Do not expect this to be like a chain restaurant! When I was there, most of the patrons were locals and it felt like everyone knew each other. You trade off some of the service you're used... More
