Awesome Catfish, Gumbo/Bisque, & Bread Pudding!

We are retirees who love to travel & taste recommendations from TA. This one is a winner! A local favorite, it's packed at lunch time. We liked it so well, we went back 2 times in a week. My hubby ordered the gumbo while I tried the shrimp & crawfish bisque. Both were great with a bit of spice... read more

The crawfish poboys are excellent. The bread is warm and flaky. The sandwich is dressed however you like. The crawfish are a little spicy. Just right. The gumbo was yummy too and loaded with shrimp!

The crawfish poboys were fantastic! Also loved the gumbo; just spicy enough & loaded with shrimp! The restaurant has updated their decor a bit since we visited last year. It's casual, comfortable, & where the locals eat.

Other reviews are right, this place was definitely worth the ride and has the best Gumbo EVER! My hubby and I tried this restaurant because of the reviews on TripAdvisor and are so happy we did. This is a real 'hole in the wall' local type of place, but it's a hidden gem. Don't go expecting great decor because that... More

Found what I consider this"hole in the wall" off the beaten path treasure on Trip Advisor and my fellow reviewers did not steer me wrong! Great food at excellent prices, excellent service, and, as one fellow reviewer said, just about as good as it gets for down home cooking and seafood! The crawfish were perfectly seasoned, big and yummy. The... More

I live in the Midwest so real Gumbo is a treat. The Gumbo here is great! The bowl size is just enough and comes with French bread. I will come back neat time in the area. This is a small place and a little off the main artery of traffic but worth it.

Couldn't leave Biloxi without eating some seafood. Did a search and found Taranto's was highly recommended. After eating there, I agree wholeheartedly. The wait staff is super friendly and the food is to die for. I had the seafood sampler platter and bread pudding. I also tried the gumbo and the fried crawfish tails, which were terrific as well. It's... More

Other reviewers wrote about the location--it is remote but well signed as you exit I-10. Yes, there is road construction on the route but all that adds to the adventure of going to Taranto's. It is all about the seafood and nothing else. Crawfish, shrimp and oysters, prepared in several ways are as good as it gets. No bar or... More

When it's crawfish season tarantos does all you can eat crawfish. You can't beat that. However go early because there's always a wait during dinner time

But worth the drive. Boiled crawfish in December is not easy to find and the price was not bad. We ordered 5 lbs and they did not disappoint. Wonderful. Staff was very nice also.
