This was a bit out of the way of I-10 but worth it. There was a small wait but once I got seated everything was well worth it. I had the shrimp poboy which was delightful. I hear when the crawfish are in season I'll have to come back.

This place is definitely out of the way. After reading reviews decided to try it. Four of us dined having several different entrees. Fried oysters were really good (they didn't have raw), fried fish was ok, crab none of us enjoyed the way it was prepared. Service was very good. Wouldn't go out of our way to eat here again... We visited Taranto's last year during Cruisin' The Coast and enjoyed our meals so much that we had to visit again this year. We were not disappointed! We seated ourselves and the server quickly greeted us. Drinks were served quickly. We started with the gumbo which was excellent! The best that we've had anywhere. The catfish platter and shrimp platter... More

After reading the reviews for Taranto's on TripAdvisor, we decided to find this place. We were NOT disappointed at all. Just as other reviewers indicated, it is not fine dining but very eclectic, small town, family oriented place. Service was excellent and food even more so. We had a cup of gumbo along with the shrimp po boy. The poboy... More

After reading the reviews on here we thought we were going find a local place to enjoy. We went early in the week so we could possibly make it back a second time before we left the area. Well...we were very disappointed in the meal. It was really nothing special. Staff was nice but food wasn't worth the gas to... More

In reality it was not too far from I-10. Plus there were official state highway signs advertising the way. Small place great fresh seafood. Had a shrimp poboy and it was excellent. It was fantastic and if you are looking for fancy go elsewhere and probably pay more.

In the south, the best BBQ, seafood, and po boys seem to all be from hole in the wall family places. Taranto's fits right in. I grew up in Louisiana and make a good gumbo, but this is probably the best bought gumbo I have ever had in my life. We had fried shrimp, crawfish Wednesday night - all fresh... More

I was looking for something locally owned and off the beaten path and Taranto's was exactly that. Delicious and fast for lunch. Southern charm and hospitality at its best. Fried shrimp basket was the special and hit the spot. Very casual but my net is they welcome anyone. Make plans to stop by.

1. Place - if you're looking for fine dining look elsewhere. This is a mom and pops place that has awesome food and very good servers. What they lack in aesthetics they more than make up with their good and service. Btw- you can't eat aesthetics so always aim for good food. 2. Price is fair 3. Server - awesome... More

Been there twice now for lunch and very pleased both times. Great lil place to stop into when traveling through Mississippi, not far off I-10. Can't beat a lunch of gumbo, small shrimp poboy, tea and tax for 8.95!
