We stopped off for breakfast here on our way up to Door County. The food was very good and the service quick and friendly. We had pretty standard breakfast fare but there were some very interesting pancake options on offer, including some unusual Scandinavian ones. Worth a visit.

I ordered a "build your own burger" that came with a choice of sides. I chose coleslaw. The burger was only fair as far as quality goes. It was a little tough and chewy. The side of coleslaw was in a tiny plastic cup like you would receive a side of tartar sauce in. The cabbage and carrots were brown... More

This is a cute little place with booths made out of old wooden church pews. We had a great breakfast including a delicious cinnamon roll. Toast is served with homemade rhubarb jam. Everything was great and service was superb! We will definitely eat here again while traveling along the North Shore.

My dad and I were heading up the Gunflint Trail last fall on a fishing outing and stopped here for breakfast one morning. The food was good, not great. Pretty typical eggs, hash browns and toast which my dad thought was good. I had an over top french toast plate that was about as sweet as liquid cotton candy. Tasty,... More

We ate dinner here. It was a small dinner menu but plenty of options for everyone. The inside is cute. The service was good. The food was a decent portion but I felt the prices were a bit high. Overall we enjoyed our food, especially the delicious blueberry pie!

Melt in your mouth ribs were just terrific. Our host and owner made sure the service was great and took the time to talk with us. What more can you say about great ribs except that you need to wash your hands after you're finished. Great service!

We were told the wait would be worth it. We only waited about 15 min to get seated and received our menus, drinks almost immediately. We were also told our waitress would be with us shortly. 20 min later we asked if we had a waitress or if we were on our own. I would have walked out then if... More

I took my 94-year-old mother on a trip along the North Shore and the Vanilla Bean was recommended to us by the little visitor info center on the north side of Duluth. Mom had chicken noodle soup with homemade noodles and loved it. I tried the fried herring and it was delicious. I'd only tried pickled herring and smoked herring... More
