30-60 minute waits are not uncommon at this roadside restaurant about an hour's drive from Duluth. Skip the eat-in wait, get in line for the take-out and grab a couple of pies and take them home. For about $17 each, they are among the most delicious and eclectic pie flavors you would eat in any year.

Went by Betty's Pies for many years and heard how great their pies are, so finally stopped in. Not impressed with the pies at all! We bought two pieces and when I saw their apple pies I know mine are much better. Even the ones we bought wasn't that tastie. They are mass production pies. Sorry, I LOVE making pies.... More

We stopped here on our way home from the North Shore & had a good, very filling breakfast. We both had the French toast (yummy!) And my eggs were cooked perfectly. Our coffee never got too low & we decided to take two slices of pie to go. Only complaint- our server needs a vacation...She was a bit grumpy but... More

After waiting and wanting to come here for the last 6 years, we finally made it! We stayed in a very nice log cabin deep in the woods and once we made it out, we needed food, so what better way to start the day than with lunch and pie! When we arrived it was about 1130 and the joint... More

On vacation with my family, we have heard a lot about these pies, came and do tested a variety of them. Excellent attention, best pies eaten up to now, freshly made.

This atmosphere of this place is great -- the interior is very quaint. It's also very popular, so be prepared to wait 10-25 minutes to be seated. The server was very kind and attentive. The food was very mediocre. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich -- it reminded me of chicken salad I once had in an airplane that came... More

Generally speaking, I enjoy eating at "diner" type restaurants or family restaurants frequented by locals and this one had tons of cars. People were very nice and we thought we would get a decent if not gourmet meal. The garlic tomato soup was actually quite good but the chicken salad sandwich that came along with it was boring at best,... More

If you're on the North Shore, make sure you make time for at least one Betty's stop! Amazing pie. Good breakfast. I recommend the pasties as a MN favorite.

Stopped for lunch. They have a soup, half sandwich and pie special. The multilayer chocolate pie was wonderful. My wife had a multi-berry creation, also very good. Busy place-- because it's good!
