I visited the Lowell Inn for lunch with friends on July 15, 2015. The decor and atmosphere was resplendent with antique furniture and a lovely old fashioned lobby. The dining room was elegant and we were served lunch by competent wait staff on a table for 5 complete with white linens and napkins. I ordered their signature cream of mushroom... More

Exceptional taste and quality yet very reasonably priced. Served with a flair of old fashioned elegance. Perfect presentation. Furnishings add to the historic charm.

Great service and the food was very good. The beat salad was excellent. The steak sandwich was a good choice full of flavor, as for the walleye rather bland and boring.Had the sweet potato fries with cinnamon completely over road the flavorless walleye. I would say pass on the walleye but if you like a plain boring fish this is... More

We had breakfast after spending the night at the Lowell. It was fine. Not over the top stellar but they had plenty of options and I thought it was a good value and convenient. The staff at the restaurant and the inn in general were all very, very welcoming, friendly, helpful and kind.

The restaurant has gone downhill with the new owners. The mushroom soup with the signature creme fraise letter "L" tasted horrible! Instead of homemade mushroom soup, it tasted canned AND the creme fraise tasted like sour cream -blech. They have eliminated The Brown - a wonderful sandwhich as well as several others. They did not bring any rolls in a... More

The Lowell Inn should be on everyone's list for better dining places, not just for special occasions. Atmosphere is refined and gracious, but also friendly and welcoming. Not as expensive as its reputation; lunch sandwiches for $10 and dinner entrees around $20 are very reasonable for the quality received. The food is good, and the service even better. Staff is... We were seated in the dining room and after sitting there for 10 minutes waiting for one of the wait staff who looked at us repeatedly to take our order we got up and left. No teamwork was observed in the dining room. There were waiters available to help the waitress. Unfortunately they chose not to. The food might have... More

We were on a local tour of Stillwater and the group had lunch at this classic Inn. I ate there last 35+ years ago at their Fondue Dinner which I noticed is still an option. That meal and wine pairing seemed very reasonably priced against Minneapolis meal costs. We had pre selected lunches choices that were very prepared and served.... More
