Looks Irish

Brought a group of ten for Friday night Irish music. It looks like an Irish pub, but food and music not so much. I've been to Ireland several times and never once did the musicians use guitars and amplifiers! Microphones so close to their mouths we couldn't understand a word. Nice guys but way too... read more

We wanted to check out the venue for a future event, so we went recently for lunch during a weekday. The Pub was quiet with 3 or so small groups eating. It was cold out so it wasn't surprising for the small crowd. John the bartender and our server did a fine job telling us about the new items on... More

If you want an outstanding lunch with generous portions of excellently prepared food...at a reasonable price for what you get...you cannot go wrong by stopping at Charlie's. We sat in the formal dining room (charming) and had a marvelous lunch with soup, salad, walleye and prime rib au jus. Service is excellent.

The Champagne brunch was excellent and worth the price. The pub had great live music on both Friday and Saturday night. Our waitress at the pub was a hoot. We had fun

Dining room billed as "fine dining" listing steaks up to $36 (salad extra) and promotes wines at $10/glass. Has to be the worst joke around; combining bad choices and incompetence. Atmosphere is OK in a dark Victorian way, but hard wood chairs are a test of endurance. Food was a disaster. Ordered the prime rib, only to have it delivered... More

We went downtown with friends on a rainy summer day. By spending time at Charlie's Irish Pub we turned a gray day into a great Saturday. We started out inside, then realized we could sit outside, see the river and still listen to the beautiful music played by live musicians inside the bar. Fantastic! The food and service were great... We wanted to stop and have a couple drinks before dinner and the staff acted like we were bothering them. The pattio wasn't even half full but when we tried to get a table they said it would be at least 10-20 minutes. They said they didn't have enough staff to cover the patio. We asked if we could ge... We've been here a few times and always enjoy the outdoor patio overlooking the river and the food has always been tasty, though the service has been kind of slow. I got the salmon tonight and it was excellent. The view was also wonderful as usual. But, unfortunately that is where the praise ends. The service was absolutely horrible tonight.... More
