Sadly this little gem closed in the summer of 2013. They never had too much business and it was not a surprise.

We were so disappointed to learn of Satellite's closing. My husband raved about the home cooking, the portions, and the little old lady that ran it.

Over the 2011 MEA break we stopped for lunch at the Satellite Inn. We all had a burger off the menu and fries. The burgers were out of this world good; big juicy, down home family taste. Then we had some pie. And let me tell you this is some pie! I have never had anything like it since. Hand... More

We stop at Satellite's often on our way to or from our cabin near Lutsen. Most everything we've had there has been very good. Breakfasts are great. The pies are supposed to be wonderful, though we've never had room to try them. Last night we had their lasagna special- I was leery of trying it at such an out-of-the-way little... More

Stopped here for an early supper on our way up the North Shore. We almost drove right past as it does not really look like a small cafe. It has limited seating and seems to be very popular as it quickly filled up after we got there. Doesn't have a huge menu selection, but the food was very good. I... More

I was was cold and hungry after fishing all day and stopped there for dinner. Boy, am I glad I did. They had a special called the Moo Fin Burger. which is a cheeseburger with a fish cake on top of it. I thought it sounded strange, but ordered it. Oh boy, I'm glad I did. Surf and turf on... More

From the road, this looks like nothing. Inside it is very modest. BUT, the fish fry, the specials, the breakfasts and the pie...wonderful, wonderful. Wish they would learn how to make coffee.

This humble little restaurant looks, frankly, like a dump. Hold off until you get inside- although you initial impression there may still be that it is a not worth your time, as the decor is, to say the least, humble and outdated. The food is why you are there! It is ALL MADE FROM SCRATCH, and CHEAP! Here is a... More

Rarely if ever have we left a restraurant believing that we were ripped off, but clearly we were at the Satellite. The atmosphere is simple. The food was good and the waitress was friendly. The bill was another story. Our daughter ordered mashed potatoes and gravy with her meal. The menu listed the item as mashed potatoes AND gravy. However,... More
