We are located in the Historic Konsbruck Hotel in downtown St. Peter Minnesota. The owners Tom and Mary Svendsen learned about the art of barbeque during their years in East Texas and want to share what they learned with you here in Saint Peter. Seasoned with their own dry rub recipe and slow smoked for many hours provides you with an assortment of succulent and tender meat. This is BBQ at it's finest.

Best When Not Busy

We enjoy Lone Star's atmosphere and the food is superb. Service can be only ok when the place is busy, which is often. Yesterday we tried the $5.95 lunch special. It was a tough choice, because each selection is very tempting. My husband and I both had the pulled chicken sandwich. It was very... read more

Had beans, poor overall. Brisket, pretty good Fries, overcooked and strangely sticky. Service was good and attentive. Pretty nice cold salad. Fun decor. Outdated beer menu.

While staying in the Konsbruck Hotel located upstairs from the Lonestar, we had our evening meal here. It is a restaurant that includes a small bar as opposed to a bar that happens to serve food. The ambiance of the dining area is great (clean, pleasing decor, not loud, and fantastic oldies tunes over the sound system). We had the... More

The owners are very happy to try to please their customers. The food is great. The atmosphere is wonderful. If you are in town, try to stay at one of the rooms, upstairs--very nice!

I've been to this place 6-7x plus+ in past 14 mos., stupidly hopeful to re-live the first time which was excellent--a demonstratably isolated stroke of dumb luck. Down hill ever since. They seem to be riding on the coat-tails of some glorious past. In reality, service is poor. Food is completely predictably unpredictable. Like some other critiques, the waitresses mostly... More

I generally don’t respond to customers reviews. After all, everybody is entitled to their own opinion. Due to the nature and tone of this particular review, I felt compelled to respond. To suggest that management is indefinable or elusive is absolutely laughable. Either my wife or myself or both are present at all times (we are the owners and managers)... More

Hubby and I were passing through St. Peter on the way to New Ulm when we decided to stop for a quick early dinner. We were in a hurry and let our waitress know that, hoping the food would be served quickly. We weren't disappointed! We ordered the brisket sandwich and pulled pork sandwich, both with fries. The fries were... More

What a great gem in St Peter MN! The BBQ was delicious and the service was excellent. It is a casual cool place. Go there with friends or take the kids - you'll get a great meal and have some fun. The owners Tom and Mary are very active in keeping an eye on everything and touching every table.

Texas BBQ in Minnesota?? We had to stop in and check it out. Wonderful lunch! We had a cup of their brisket chili (outstanding with lots of brisket and beans), the meat loaf sandwich and the philly brisket. We would order all of them again. The bartender gave us a recap on the local micro beers and we chose the... More

I have had almost everything on the menu, and it is all very good. Reasonable serving sizes, and quality presentation for a decent price make this a wonderful choice. The brisket is very good, but hard to choose given that the ribs are also very good! We just recently had a family get together there, 6 adults and 2 kids,... More
