Great coffee, fast service, and good food. Cheerful, cozy, and friendly atmosphere. I love their Mama's Mimosa, served in a large wine goblet! Thick slabs of ham. Eggs cooked to perfection.

Have breakfast here 5 days a week. Monday through Fridays. Owners are great people, friendly wait staff and good food to boot. Good place for meetings, small or large get together s or just a good meal. Prices are reasonable, Great neighborhood restaurant.

We didn't eat at the place, we only have a drink. The selection of beers was ok, other drinks seemed ok too. It's really noisy in there so it's difficult to carry on a conversation without yelling!

A slab of fresh bread with home made made soup. Nice regular food. Very charming and relaxed. Love it.

Ordered a breakfast, dinner and two appetizers. All came at the same time. One appetizer was inedible, so only one of ten consumed. Was not offered a discount or substitution. Felt the server was new and inexperienced. Bathroom was filthy which makes me wonder about the kitchen.

Being from the southern portion of the US, I love Biscuits and Gravy. The farther north you live it becomes more difficult to find this southern delicacy. Not any more, had a great helpin' of Biscuits and Sausage Gravy today at Highland Café and Bakery. My first time here, surprisingly, considering I live within walking distance. Friendly, relaxed atmosphere "where people know your name." A true neighborhood cafe where groups can play cards in the afternoon, or gather for breakfast in the morning. I've been going here for years and never feel rushed. Good acoustics for quiet conversation. Unpretentious atmosphere, delicious food and baked goods, reasonable prices. Easy place to go solo. Friendly staff, convenient parking.

This restaurant is the latest venture in a place that has seen a number of other eateries. We very much enjoy our visits to this venue because of the cozy folksy atmosphere, the quick and friendly service and the ample array of menu items. We often share meals because of the large servings provided and the staff always cheerfully assist... More
