The waiter was so polite. Good food and clean. The place is simple, but the service and food was very good.

The best and most authentic Turkish meal I have had since being stationed in Turkey. The place is a bit small but the service was was very good.

I have to admit I only stopped in here one day because the Korean restaurant on the same block was closed. I was surprised to find the selections so plentiful. I took an order to go and thoroughly enjoyed finishing it at my desk (which is 4 blocks away).

I was in Turkey, Greece and Macedonia this year, so when I came back, I had a good appreciation for what people eat in the southern Balkans. I had a hankering to go here today, and the timing worked for me, so it was a pleasure--my second visit, after a visit two years ago. Seeing it now, I realize that... More

So first off, I love Turkish food. So when the cravings come, I head over to the Black Sea. I have been here about 10 times now. The food is consistently good. I highly recommend the Iskender Kebap. It was Alexander the Great's favorite meal, thus it is named after him. Waiters have always recommended other items to the people... More

This is a great restaurant. The food is outstanding ~ very fresh ingredients. It is a very comfortable welcoming place to enjoy a meal. The prices are most reasonable. The staff great to work with. Highly recommend. Is just south of the Hamline University campus.

The owners, nephews of the previous owners (who have returned to Turkey) do a very good job of putting out simple, tasty food. The restaurant is small with a deep commitment to quality. You won't be served an anemic tomato slice or a tasteless hamburger. There are two soups that change with the seasons and a good selection of Turkish... More

One of the problems eating vegetarian or vegan these days can be vegetables sauteed or grilled in tons of oil. That wasn't a problem here. I had grilled eggplant that tasted heavenly and had almost no oil or grease on it. Plus it was lightly salted, if at all. I ate with an omnivore, who loved her food too.

Black Sea is an a great example of a family owned, reasonable priced, long lasting, quite small restaurant that has been around quite a while because of its many strengths. There is a wide range of middle-eastern food available, well prepared, tasty with reasonable prices. There are about 6 tables inside. You are very aware this place is small. Falafel,... More

Black Sea is a tiny hole-in-the-wall family-run Turkish restaurant serving a few simple, authentic Turkish dishes. For my money, their falafel is the best in town, but everything is tasty and inexpensive. Service is speedy and depending on where you sit, you can see your meal being prepared behind the counter. It gets quite busy at lunchtime; you might need... More
