This is a great restaurant. The food is outstanding ~ very fresh ingredients. It is a very comfortable welcoming place to enjoy a meal. The prices are most reasonable. The staff great to work with. Highly recommend. Is just south of the Hamline University campus.

The owners, nephews of the previous owners (who have returned to Turkey) do a very good job of putting out simple, tasty food. The restaurant is small with a deep commitment to quality. You won't be served an anemic tomato slice or a tasteless hamburger. There are two soups that change with the seasons and a good selection of Turkish... More

One of the problems eating vegetarian or vegan these days can be vegetables sauteed or grilled in tons of oil. That wasn't a problem here. I had grilled eggplant that tasted heavenly and had almost no oil or grease on it. Plus it was lightly salted, if at all. I ate with an omnivore, who loved her food too.

Black Sea is an a great example of a family owned, reasonable priced, long lasting, quite small restaurant that has been around quite a while because of its many strengths. There is a wide range of middle-eastern food available, well prepared, tasty with reasonable prices. There are about 6 tables inside. You are very aware this place is small. Falafel,... More

Black Sea is a tiny hole-in-the-wall family-run Turkish restaurant serving a few simple, authentic Turkish dishes. For my money, their falafel is the best in town, but everything is tasty and inexpensive. Service is speedy and depending on where you sit, you can see your meal being prepared behind the counter. It gets quite busy at lunchtime; you might need... More

Please don't expect fancy. Black Sea is a bare bones restaurant. The decor consists of a TV showing photos of Turkey. I like it. The food is tasty, inexpensive and arrives quickly. I'm so glad they opened another one on County Road E, close to me. The quality depends on who is cooking, and even when it isn't the best,... More

We stopped in for lunch and the place was full. Small and cozy atmosphere made for an enjoyable meal. The service was quick and the food was average but tasty. I ordered falafel which was good but not extremely flavorful. Overall we would go back when we want some Turkish food. They have a decent sized menu and there is... More

I really enjoyed the food at Black Sea. I would make a point of going here for dinner when my ex-girlfriend and I were in the Twin Cities area (she lives in Northern MN). Its small and intimate and the food very tasty.

When the dinner crunch is on and we need tasty food that fits the budget, and is fast and easy to get, Black Sea is our go to place. Last night we had unexpected guests and this food was right on point for everyone!

We went to the Black Sea restaurant in White Bear Lake as a family. The atmosphere is very practical/bare-bones but the service was prompt and friendly. The prices are very reasonable but I would call the food average. I have never been to their original location and after seeing the reviews I wonder if this is as good.
