Excellent Italian

Really impressed by this place. Great wine list and great food. Get a pasta dish of course but be sure to also try the cacciuco - a spicy fish stew that is absolutely amazing - one of the best dishes in the Twin Cities. Outstanding service here as well.

Had dinner at I Nonni with a friend. We ate on the patio and the service was discreet, but still very attentive. I ordered the Carpaccio and was very surprised by how big the portion was and how truly Italian. It was a big place of thinly sliced meat, with a layer of parmesan and arugola on top. That alone... Delicious halibut and shrimp pasta. But, $12 for a salad with too much pepper, one tomato and some romaine lettuce barely enough for one person is outrageous. Setting is very pleasant and service was OK. There are better Italian restaurants in St. Paul at fairer prices. We won't be back. Deserts had nothing of interest.

Excellent menu with Italian cuisine not ordinarily found in typical Italian restaurants. The lamb was especially nicely prepared. The wait-staff was professional and helpful.

I hate to give a poor review, but this restaurant had some of the worst service I have ever experienced. I love authentic Italian food, especially seafood dishes, so I was very disappointed at the poor service and food at this restaurant. It took fifteen minutes for a server to arrive at our table. We asked about a salad to... More

Excellent food and wonderful service. We have enjoyed dinner here a few times and also have taken advantage of their wonderful happy hour in the adjacent bar with both inside and outside seating in the summer. I Nonni has several amenities available to the needs for many collective choices. In addition to the full service and fully Italian dining room,... More

We heard good things about this restaurant and have been there with a large group and also had wine at their bar one evening and enjoyed it. We decided to have dinner there just my husband and I. The service was slow, food was mediocre, and we had to ask for bread. We felt as if we were forgotten at... More

Yet another great place to eat in the twin cities. Maybe a little off the beaten path but well worth the trip. They have a slew of great menu options (try the Cobia appetizer) and one of the most unique -and best - set of pasta options I've ever had. The squid ink pasta not only looked great but was... More

This was an incredible meal. Start to finish. The cacciucco was absolutely amazing. Really good seafood in a spicy tomoto broth with grilled bread. It is a must if you like seafood. We both did the 3-course menu and were both very happy that we started with the cacciucco. The serving sizes for all of our dishes were very generous... More

I like the happy hour and wine selection. The menu is interesting and seasonal. Always something on the menu for my Italian tastes. Good people working here and always an interesting crowd.
