Surprise of a Good French Restaurant

Fish was a small serving but tasty and hot. Somewhat noisy with echoes. Wine superb as was waiter--knowledgeable but unobtrusive. Gratis dessert for my birthday--like a large ice cream bonbon with chocolate.

This a cute French bistro. It has some great wines by the glass. The Oysters were first rate and as fresh as could be. The choice was both from the east and west coast. The menu has a nice selection of bistro classics. The is also a great collection of fresh fish. On a sunny summer day there is a... More

We did an anniversary staycation but decided to go across the river to St Paul instead of staying in Minneapolis. St Paul has a reputation among Minneapolitans for shutting down early every night and for being, well, a bit boring compared to Minneapolis. Meritage was definitely worth the flack we got from friends for saying we are hanging out in... More

Meritage is a busy, bistro-style restaurant. No table cloths, wooden chairs and a casual atmosphere. Good service and an interesting wine list were highlights. The food was competent, and an excellent value. Desserts were worth going for.

Visited with my best friend and had the tasting menu - what a fantastic experience! While I don't recommend doing this, they were able to make a substitution to the main course because my best friend has a moral objection to eating lamb. Bummer for her, because the lamb was exquisite. Every single thing about our experience was fantastic, from... More

We had a beautiful meal, sitting outdoors on a gorgeous evening. Very pleasant waitress. Tuna nicoise and steak frites were excellent. Particularly nice steak , perfectly prepared. A little odd I thought that they don't include bread with the meal. For dessert we shared profiteroles-which were fantastic!

Stopped here for brunch on a Sunday. The menu is quite extensive and you can order typical brunch things or a regular mid-day meal. Wait staff is teriffic. I had the lox plate, with a side of bacon and some great coffee (the use Lavazza, which is my personal favorite). All the ingredients were fresh, and the bacon in particular... More

I dine there alone this time. At the bar the entire menu is available plus the bar menu. I did the bar menu. The gratinée oysters were good but $12 for three is pricy. The bone marrow roasted with bread crumbs was nice but not a lot there to eat. The duck confit flatbread unfortunately had way too much goat... More

Wow. Just get a reservation and go. And get the tasting menu. And get wine. Or get something else! If you like French food, your soul will be happy. #fooddrunk

So glad I made reservations just to be ignored. Now I know why it as the deadest place in the city. We were seated early unfortunately that's the last good thing that happened. Ignored for 10 minutes until we left. Now we're happily seated at Pazzaluna
