We had a group of 10. There were two hotplates built into our table. Each hot pot comes to the table with a split center so we could have both hot and not so hot broths in the same pot. The hot was wicked hot, uffda! The ingredients we ordered to cook at our table were fresh, plentiful and very... More

Very expensive for what you get and staff not very helpful. With each ordering kept thinking it would get better....it didn't. Left hungry.

I was a huge fan of the prior version of Little Szechuan... So the bar was already set high for my first visit in their new all hot pot format... Our experience exceeded my expectations. Great service, large selection of ingredients, mix your own sauce bar. Very happy with not only the quality of the food, but the cook at... More

I thought I was back in China having a hotpot, this is authentic China in St. Paul. Warning when they say spicy they mean spicy. My lips are still comfortably numb.

This was the best Chinese Restaurant in the Twin Cities, and now it's not. They recently changed to - Hot Pot - style. I am not a fan. Extremely disappointed to lose such a wonderful menu. The hot pot is really just boiling meat and vegetables. The service was good and the waitress tried to help us along. But, all... More

We went in for chung king chili shrimps, dan dan noodles, and green beans and were disappointed none of our favorites were available. The greeter explained the new hot pot concept which did not sound appetizing, or maybe it was simply anticipation being met by bitter disappointment in any event, we left and headed to the Tea House. If we're... More

Little Szechuan has been an old favorite for several years, one of the default restaurants we visit on Friday evenings when we can no longer think. This Spring the place closed in order to remodel and shift the format from familiar Szechuan Chinese food to Szechuan hot pot food, rather like a Chinese version of European fondue. We were trying... This used to be awesome szechuan...maybe the best kung pao in town. great chili oil, great spice and flavor. not anymore. things first went to a buffet style, which was ok. Now they are a hot pot restaurant. We went with a large group. They crowded us around a big table because of the "hot pot" setup being on wires... More

Nice and chic place to eat. Food and service is really wonderful! Price is a bit higher than the standard price but you are paying for the nice surrounding.

I love spicy food.... I love exploring the distinct varieties of Chinese cuisine, and this place isn't just called "Szechuan". It really is Szechuan, with it's strong peppery, numbing flavors. I had the Mala Chicken which is my favorite from restaurants in other cities, and I was surprised how good this place was. The tea tree mushrooms, were super earthy... More
