Shish is my favorite breakfast spot in Saint Paul. The Middle Eastern accent on the food at Shish sets it apart from other restaurants. Breakfast from Jerusalem offers spicy ground beef, great humus, tabouli, pita and other accompaniments, in a size that is large enough for two! My new favorite is the Mediterranean Pita: eggs, gyro meat, and feta cheese in... More

I grew up eating homemade Lebanese food so although there's no place that truly compares, the food is REALLY good! The tabouli was a little salty and the hummus had spices on that I didn't care for, but overall everything tastes fresh, looks delicious, and the employees are extremely friendly. It's a little pricey, but what do you expect from... More

Nice little secret. Flavorful food with lots of options for vegetarians. Great dessert options also. Enjoyed green curry dish. Hummus was excellent.

I am trying to eat healthy, so a friend recommended I try some Mediterranean food. I came here and tried the chicken kabobs and wow! Lots of veggies, perfectly cooked chicken and an awesome sort of cream. Will be coming regularly.

I used to go here every week for brunch, but I struck out for the third time this weekend and will not be back. The Turkish coffee is weak and watery, even if you stir the sludge at the bottom. The foul madammas, which used to be authentic, now seems to be cooked with heavy cream (?!), loads of salt,... More

Wow!! This is my favorite place for middle-eastern food in the Twin Cities. They serve high-quality food in a casual cafe/deli setting. The staff is super friendly and patient, impressive for how busy this place is. The portions are enormous. Seriously - the sample platter was more than enough to satisfy 2 adults The fafafels are amazing as is the... More

If you enjoy falafel, fava beans and/or eggs and potatoes, great place to enjoy a breakfast or brunch. Down to earth neighborhood gathering spot for meeting others in lively conversation. Not great view or huge seating area, but enjoyable food and friendly atmosphere.

The selections at Shish are largely what you would expect at a Middle Eastern cafe: gyros, chicken shawarma, hummus plates, baklava. But there are also delicious home-made soups and burgers and fries. All of the food is freshly made with quality ingredients, most of the dishes are healthy (perhaps not the burgers and fries) and everything is delicious. Also the... More

I think it lacks that real Mediterranean flavoring. But the location, quality and service is fitting for college area.

A perfect deli-style place for good, inexpensive middle-eastern food. Delicious hummus, baba ghanoush, homemade soups, gyros, chicken shawarma, baklava, and a very good selection of teas. Homey, campus-life type of atmosphere but with plenty of space and seating.
