Going to Shish for breakfast for a great surprise. I had looked at the menu and figured the Greek-ish breakfasts would be great, and a nice alternative for other typical breakfasts. The counter service was quick and helpful, and positively impacted our choices. The Shish breakfast was delicious- with Gyro meat (prepared in house!), Tatzliki sauce, and braised eggs (amazing-... I stopped by to order takeout food. The guy behind the counter was borderline rude and short with me. It was very busy at the time so I figured he was stressed out. Still, it was my first time going to this restaurant and I did not leave with good vibes. Not sure if we will return.

I've heard about this place for years and never eaten here. Now I know what I was missing and I'll be back frequently to enjoy the mediteranean flavors. The take-out is excellent. Portions are large; prices are inexpensive. I had the falafel wrap which was wonderful. Others in my party had various shish kebabs. We were all very happy with... More

This is a great little place in St. Paul. We came for a late breakfast Saturday Morning. We ordered the Eggs Benedict with crab cakes, severed on pita bread, it came with potatoes too. We also had a gyros pita sandwich which was filled with meat, onions, tomatoes etc. The flavors were fabulous! I wanted the Jerusalem Breakfast but when... More

Good representation of meditterarian food. Not great for a date.. A little too much like Chipotle in terms of service

Had a take-out lunch here, and came back for breakfast a few days later. Everything was delicious: the eggs, the falafel, and the baklava (pistachio), which was the best I have ever had. The space is pretty small, and gets busy, but the food is worth the wait. Order at the counter, then grab a seat -- they will bring... More

My culinary tastes tend towards milder flavors, so I was apprehensive about eating at Shish on the invitation of a friend. That left immediately upon entering the restaurant. One is met with a wonderful sensory experience--the odors, the colors, the decorations all contribute to a feeling of warmth and comfort [a good thing for a Minnesotan]. To order, one stands... Having just arrived in St. Paul, we needed dinner. We chose well with Shish, located conveniently to Macalester College. The lamb burgers were juicy and flavorful. The fries were not, I have to say. But their menu of Mediterranean dishes is tantalizing, including desserts. Shish is a fine, bustling family place with good food at affordable prices. We four all... More

Our first visit to Shish on Grand Ave. proved to be a good choice for delicious breakfast selections which were both priced well and served in large portions. The Shish Breakfast was so large that I took home half of it. I only hoped for a little more Greek seasoning. My friend ordered the Greek omelet which came on a... More

I offered to take my 11 year old grandson out to lunch while I was visiting his family in St. Paul. He said he wanted to go to the Shish Cafe on Grand Avenue. The restaurant is small and not fancy, though they have some interesting art objects as decor. A large choice of Mediterranean dishes is available, to be... More
