I wrote a positive review about Trotter's a year or so ago, and I tend to be very generous in my TA reviews, so it takes a lot to annoy me. But I was really disappointed on my visit this time, Jan. 2, 2014. I decided not to rent a car on this business trip and walk from my guest... More

We found this cozy and friendly little cafe tucked away in a residential neighborhood in St. Paul. While our hotel offered breakfast, I must admit free hotel breakfasts are not my idea of a good way to start the day. Trotters offered a varied menu of fresh, healthy and very tasty breakfasts. While we did not have lunch there, the... More

You want to meet the farmer who raised your produce? You want to taste the best local wines, beers, root beers and food from Minnesota? You want owners that love their customers and give discounts to folks who walk or ride their bikes to the cafe? You want to see local art on the walls and local musicians on Saturday... More

I had dinner at this busy little neighborhood eatery during a business trip to the University of St. Thomas, which is a couple of blocks away. The ambiance is cute and friendly; there is a small adjoining room to the main cafe through an arched entry, with brick walls, wood floors, and art hanging throughout. There's a nice assortment of... This place serves healthy sandwiches and other healthy food that also has the advantage of being tasty. I wouldn't drive 30 miles for their food but if you are in the area, this is a good alternative to fast food.

Stopped here for coffee with a friend and was pleasantly surprised that it was larger and had a complete menu beyond being just a local coffee shop with decent bakery items. I'll definitely return for a meal, music and beer!

Trotter's is a great alternative to heavy bakeries or grease plates like the St. Clair Broiler. They have an extensive breakfast menu (my usual meal there) and their homemade granola and real oatmeal (no instant crap) are always great. They also serve the traditional egg, etc. breakfasts for you bigger eaters. The only meal I've had there that I didn't... More

I decided to venture here while waiting for my car to be serviced. While I had planned on grabbing a coffee to have while I read my book, I couldn't resist the happy hour that was going on, $3 pints and $1 off wine. I didn't personally eat however everything that those around me had look delicious. The clientele ranged... More

I've been to Trotters maybe 50 times over these past 20 years. I've never been disappointed about food quality and taste. Their sandwiches are terrific and for GF folk, they make a GF roll (bread) that is the best I've had anywhere. The breakfasts are awesome. I especially like potato mountain with a literal mountain of organic spuds, veggies and... More
