Good food but a little pricy for self serve

The Reuben was pretty tasty. The fries are out of this world. Kids meal of grilled cheese was adult worthy. Very good food but a bit pricey considering you have to bus your own table and get your own silverware and condiments. Friendly staff.

Favorite spot for healthy food and warm conversation. This cozy cafe is very supportive and engaged in the community and that attitude permeates the atmosphere.

Our food critic son-in-law took my wife and me to Trotter's last night. The Mediterranean Vegetarian Pasta, the special of the evening, was superb in every way. Bow-tie pasta with fresh peppers, mushrooms, olives, onion, garlic, feta, flavored with balsamic vinegar was first-class. The small side salad and bread were okay but not up the standard of the entree. We... More

Our recent early Friday evening visit was my second and my wife's first. This small, store front restaurant has a casual, 60's feel that reminded me of the coffee houses that flourished then. My wife ordered the bison burger, which was nicely prepared and good tasting. My smaller portioned squash pasta dish included a small salad and one small piece... More

Really was disappointed with this restaurant. They don't offer much on the menu. Will not be going back.

The food here is always great, and the service is really nice. I like the location, because its just down the street from Izzy's, the best ice cream in town.

I wrote a positive review about Trotter's a year or so ago, and I tend to be very generous in my TA reviews, so it takes a lot to annoy me. But I was really disappointed on my visit this time, Jan. 2, 2014. I decided not to rent a car on this business trip and walk from my guest... More

We found this cozy and friendly little cafe tucked away in a residential neighborhood in St. Paul. While our hotel offered breakfast, I must admit free hotel breakfasts are not my idea of a good way to start the day. Trotters offered a varied menu of fresh, healthy and very tasty breakfasts. While we did not have lunch there, the... More

You want to meet the farmer who raised your produce? You want to taste the best local wines, beers, root beers and food from Minnesota? You want owners that love their customers and give discounts to folks who walk or ride their bikes to the cafe? You want to see local art on the walls and local musicians on Saturday... More

I had dinner at this busy little neighborhood eatery during a business trip to the University of St. Thomas, which is a couple of blocks away. The ambiance is cute and friendly; there is a small adjoining room to the main cafe through an arched entry, with brick walls, wood floors, and art hanging throughout. There's a nice assortment of...
