If you like a variety of beer, distinctive food, an informal setting and excellent service, this is a GREAT place. On a recent Saturday lunch, we split the filafel/humus appetizer which was EXCELLENT. Perhaps the best filafel we've had in the Twin Cities. For entrees we had the "Game Burger (bison et. al) and the brat. Both excellent. Did I... More

The restaurant is in a very old St.Paul, MN mansion. Very nicely decorated, excellent service and delicious food. Entrees, are a little overpriced. They have tens of draft beer and cider. Particularly I recommend the MILK and HONEY Cider, from MN. If you are a cider drinker, this is the most balanced, refined and delicious cider. For the ones with... More

Great place with good food selection and very good service. Mussels and Ahi tuna to die for. Fair portion size and very nice atmosphere on the patio.

Thanks to a last minute recommendation from a resident we checked out this aptly named restaurant was a great stop. It was full of happy, boisterous patrons across the generational spectrum. It features a staggering listing of craft beers and other alcoholic libations. For newcomers to craft beers one can order 5 glass sampler boards of the various tastes available.... More

If you love craft beer and great food, no trip to St. Paul is complete without a visit to the Happy Gnome! They have a bazillion beers on tap. It's an in-depth beer selection, - prepare to be impressed! Enjoy their outdoor patio if the weather is nice. Cheers!

My wife and I recently ate at the Happy Gnome. Pretty good menu variety which we greatly appreciated. I had a veggie "juicy lucy" which was outstanding. The fries that came with the selection were great, too. Good help from waitstaff as this was our first visit but not our last!

We recently moved to Saint Paul, and we've had a few out-of-town guests. The first thing we do is take them to The Happy Gnome for lunch, and then head down the street for a tour of the Cathedral and/or the Hill House. Despite the magnificence of the church and the impressive nature of Hill House, everyone always comes back... More

I didn't eat at the Happy Gnome although the food I observed looked really, really good. I came for the craft beer and was not disappointed. Great craft beer selection with emphasis on local crafts. The bar has a warm feel and the bartenders were friendly and very beer savvy. Definitely looking forward to coming back in the future.

Lucky enough to catch a beautiful summer day, we ate out on the patio where it was just delightful. Hubby had the half chicken with risotto which was delectable and I had a cup of their wonderful tomato with blue cheese soup (pledged we would try to copy it at home) and their mussels. Mussels dish was too many to... More
