If you've ever wanted to see a confederate flag in the colors of the University of Minnesota, look no further. If you are easily offended OR think this is a seedy version of the MOA's 'Dicks Last Resort' with faked rudeness, I would pass. Also- do not wear anything that you don't want to smell... read more

This little venerable dive bar has not changed in years. Very much a blue collar kind of place with great food and nice folks. The dogs are a little small, so be ready to eat at least 2! They are well worth the price.

I said eat, eat, eat, eat, eat (Eat, eat, eat, eat, eat), 'Cause you make me feel, like eating Coney's, they're so good, eating Coney's. What place can make me feel like eating Coney's? A tiny little hole-in-the-wall called the Gopher Bar in downtown St. Paul and a place not for the faint of heart. You will need some thick... More

The food here is marginal . They will have either PBR or Old Style on tap which I enjoy. The prices are fair but not cheap. As others have posted this place is a dive but that is what makes it a great place to go,unless you are a thin skinned Mn liberal. The Confederate flags add a bit of... More

The food at this local joint has drastically gone down hill over the years. We used to go for the "famous" Coney dogs regularly. At $4 a piece for the dogs and a basket of crappy onion rings for $7, I can assure you....eat elsewhere and come here only for a cold beer.

This place is straight out of a post-apocalyptic 'b' movie. The lone surly hag behind the counter was the cook, waitress, and bartender. Shouting to be heard over the myriad conversations, she barked and bellowed the patrons around; each and every scruffian obeying like a sheep. Amazing. Decor? I wouldn't call it that. Salvaged artifacts from days gone by harken... More

I made the mistake of going twice! On my first visit, I was asked to leave if I was a Muslim, because they served bacon. I could not have been more that two or three steps in the door. During my second visit, I ordered a my drink, left to pay for parking, and returned. Upon my return I asked... More

If you are susceptible to being easily offended, do not go here. If you are easy going and love a hole in the wall bar, with an opinion, this is your place! I've never had anything other than coney dogs and a beer here, and frankly don't recommened anything other than that. They are known for their dogs. The butter... More

The Gopher Bar on 7th and Wacouta in St. Paul is, as the title states, like no other place on this Earth. You have go plan a trip for the Gopher and go hungry as they have the best coney dogs anywhere. Sherry and George are the owners and let's just say that they say whatever they want and could... If you have thin skin, don't bother. A great place to have a cold beer, fabulous chili dog and old school americana. A classic family owned business that is 90 years old and they have earned the right to tell you what they think AND they will. There will be many F bombs from Sherry and George (owners) but it...
