Service and ambience are great but food was so bland and disappointing. Couldn't find any crab in the crab cakes. $20 for a turkey dinner came with dried out turkey and no mashed potatoes.

I've always known this restaurant as Dixie's on Grand, so I don't understand this "Smokehouse Bar and Grill" name. Although we lived within 20 miles of Dixie's for many years, we had never eaten there until we moved 2,000 miles away and came back for a visit. We intended to eat at nearby restaurant, but it was Labor Day, so... More

Dixie's used to be one of my favorite restaurants in St. Paul. No longer. New chef had to "make his mark" on the menu. Selection has changed. One example...get this---Dixie's Smokehouse serves two types of ribs....But....removed coleslaw from the menu. They are known for their biscuits. Used to get 3 biscuits, now only 2. Cost savings? Price increase? Management needs... More

We love Dixies and go there for the coconut shrimp and crab soup. The crab soup is still wonderful, but the coconut shrimp was not like was. It was too heavily breaded and oily. Last time we had it, it was light and crisp, but not oily. I will still go back for the soup though. But forget the coconut... More

I really enjoyed eating at Dixie's. The portion sizes were large, but the food is fantastic! I ate outside and I loved the atmosphere. I'll definitely return in the future, and I recommend that you check it out!

a little pricy but nice salads and great food. They also have some tables outside so that is nice. I would recommend this place as a fast lunch or HH with friends.

Atmosphere is very nice. I can't vouch for the authenticity of the Southern food, being a Southerner I was scared to order ribs or jambalya, etc for fear of certain disappointment. I can vouch for the things my wife and I ordered. There is a monthly special menu. May 2013 was "Kentucky" and one of the items was a Hot... More

My wife and I went to Dixies on Grand for the first time. We had heard about their happy hour and drove 18 miles to enjoy the evening on Memorial Day. We arrived at 4:45 pm. There were a couple of seats at the bar, but we decided to sit at one of the high tops in the bar area.... More

Sophisticated atmosphere with friendly service, good soul food and large bar area. Patio seating too! Largest brunch buffet selection I've seen in a while, with a bloody mary station.

I love Dixies. I have gone there for numerous dates with my boyriend, for afterhours drinks with the girls, and also have brought my parents (twice) as well as my granparents who are from out of town. We have never been dissapointed. The food is delicious! I have read other reviews, and yes if you judge them on green beans... More
