Good, old fashioned Italian food

This Italian restaurant, located in the ethnic, blue collar East Side of St Paul, has been around for decades and for a reason. It may be a bit less ethnic and a bit less blue collar but Yarusso's hasn't forgotten its roots. All kinds of pasta, giant and delicious meat balls, Italian sausage... read more

On the way through detour traffic to the doctor and here I was at a light in front of Yarusso's. I went around the block and headed back in for lunch. I had 45 minutes and hoped I could be served and out in time. Definitely old school; been there many years ago with family. A bartender and a server... More

We tried Yarusso's one Friday evening recently. In a nutshell, the Italian food dishes (3 different dishes tried in our party of 4 ) was bland; think creamette noodles with bottled Ragu sauce you could have made at home; not what I go to an Italian eatery for. White bread bland and old school salad drenched in dressing. Service was... More

I think their food is good. Seems prices have been creeping up lately but you get about two meals out of an order. The resturant is small but service is good. It's a family owned place with a typical italian menu.

I go here as often as I can. Wonderful salads - antipasta all the way. Great pasta. Lovely luncheon buffet. Reasonable prices, friendly family place. What more can one ask. Their sauce is quite unique - a touch of nutmeg, I think, does it.

Look at what people say in their reviews. And look at how people rate Yarussos. The ratings are all over the place from 1-2 to 3 and 4-5. It just makes me wonder, "Are we talking about the same place?" How can a place be so many different things to so many people. Even some of the people who give... More

we went for the lunch buffet. you get some choices, not much for variety. the pasta and meatballs aren't great sadly...the pizza is only okay. I make better pizza and red sauce myself, which isn't what you go out for. Not super expensive, so i guess that's a plus

For over 70 years, four generations of my family members have enjoyed Yarusso's. The flavor of their sauce is unique and addicting. The staff treats us like family and goes out of their way to make sure our every need is met. From the small spaghetti to a half and half to meatball dinner to my mouthwatering crave-inducing sloppy dago... More

Went this week for rib nite. Arrived at 6:15. The place was almost empty however all the tables were soiled with dirty dishes, used glasses and crumbs. Finally found the only clean booth. The waitress arrived and never did greet us or introduce herself. Took our order and served my beer in a brandy snifter, totally inappropriate. Our food finally... More

So there is nothing fancy or unusual here...just standard pastas with red or white sauce. If you come with that expectation, you will do okay. I suspect that lots of customers who are nostalgic East siders will love this neighborhood joint. Portions are huge and large enough to share. The poor server was working really hard but it was understaffed...... More
