We met a friend here for dinner. It worked well with a five year old and 12-week old. The walleye was delicious! The wait staff was helpful, albeit slow at times.

Best walleye around. Been here numerous times - the walleye is always great. It is Canadian walleye prepared a number of ways. I prefer the standard grilled fillet - excellent – moist, tender and flavorful. Just falls apart on your fork. I also liked the blackened, grilled fillet - not too spicy and just as tender. You can get the... More

This is one of our favorite places to eat when in the Twin Cities, it is always consistently well prepared walleye, efficiently served with a "Grand" presentation all at a reasonable price. Wait staff is always great.

The only better walleye I can think of is that which you catch yourself. Served to perfection- fried of course. With a great breaded seasoned crispy light coating. Perfect texture, flavor and taste. Parking in rear when street is full. A tavern with true Minnesota north flavor.

This place has Walleye and they have more Walleye. A local recommend the place as being the best walleye place in town and he was right. They also had a great lemon cake for dessert. Only problem is they could cool the place down a little more. I had a corner seat and the air did not reach me. It... More

Had a family member in town today who really wanted to sample good walleye while here. Tavern on Grand was a great choice. Had the blackened walleye lunch special; good fish and just the right spice seasoning.

The up north decorating for this bar/restaurant provides the standard family-restaurant style tables and booths with a bit of MN atmoshpere, don't you know. The sides are basic/unremarkable and there are plenty of other menu options besides fish, but a person doesn't come here for the burgers. You get the fish, eh? Walleye. Real walleye. Broiled, fried, blackened or in... More

Who knew Walleye was the state fish? We had to try it before we left so picked Tavern on Grand. There were so many choices. We decided to split the sampler. Fabulous! I ordered a side salad with a tarragon-artichoke dressing. We left very happy!

If all you are looking for is really good walleye, by all means go here. If you need ambience, you might want to rethink. And in winter there is NO place to park. And you evidently cannot park within TWENTY feet of a crosswalk unless you want to contribute $36 to the city's coffers.
