A good dining experience, vegetarians and meat eaters accomodated well

We were four for dinner, 2 vegetarians who might eat fish and two meat eaters. At the top of the menu was a set vegetarian 3 course meal (flora) which delighted in every way. The other vegetarian loved the trout and its imaginative and savory preparation. The chicken was excellently prepared said... read more

The menu sounds terrific, but when the dishes arrive, they are under seasoned and bland. Service is fine. Wine prices are reasonable. Maybe the place is too big? Maybe a chef needs to tweak finishing touches and add more flavor. An example: the bright yellow macaroon that came with the lavender panna cotta: none of us could discern any flavor.

We were in town and decided to celebrate our anniversary a few weeks early. Were pleasantly surprised we could get reservations on a Friday night at 7pm, because we couldn't at Spoon & Stable or the Bachelor Farmer. Anyway, Heartland turned out to be a perfect choice. The service from Phillip was excellent, if I was guessing I'd say he... More

Great food super staff! Server answered all our questions, Group of 6 all had good experience. Some thought the beef was over salted. We will be back!

Heartland used to be located about half a mile from our house. They moved downtown about 5 years ago. We finally made it here. It is very large and open. Not crowded like many high end restaurants. Just north of the farmers market and across from the new baseball park. You will probably have to walk several blocks from where... More

We dined here to celebrate a friend's engagement. Honestly, it was hugely overpriced for what we received. The entrees are not good sized at all. Be prepared to leave hungry and poor!

We were attending an event in the neighborhood, so decided to give Heartland a second chance. We had been here once before, shortly after it moved to this location. Everything we tried was good, and the only thing that was delicious were the pickled onions in my green salad. We would have been satisfied at a lower price, but expected... More

You can order A la Carte, but the 3 course flora and fauna options are the best deal. It's one of those restaurants where you can close your eyes and point to something on the menu and trust that it will be delicious.

For years Lenny Russo's Heartland Restaurant has set the bar high for locally sourced exquisite dining in St.Paul, MN. The bar is a great place to start with a solid happy hour, excellent wine selection, varied local craft beers, and tasty appetizers including wonderful burgers. The restaurant offerings are second to none. On my last visit I had the Bison... More

My husband and I went to Heartland before a Wild game. (Side note they have a shuttle bus that will take you to the Xcel or Ordway, door to door service, very convenient.) We had a great meal. We asked our server for recommendations on dishes to order and we were not disappointed. We had 2 small plates, 2 large... More
