We had seen this diner listed in an article about old diners in the US. Since we were going to be in St. Paul in October, decided we had to try it and are glad we did. what a fun experience. Is it trendy and up scale NO, but fun. It is very small, but the history more than makes... More

It seems most restaurants have trouble understand what "over medium" eggs are. No only is this a fun place to eat but my eggs were PERFECT, exactly the way I like them. It's fun to sit at the counter and watch one cook in a very small area make all of these different meals and make then perfectly. Can't wait... More

The food is as greasy as you would expect, but priced a little higher. It is a fun experience before a concert at the Excel Energy Center or a show at the Ordway. You may want to split your meals because a visit to Candyland (just around the corner) is a fun historic feeling ending to a fun evening. Candyland... More

I really enjoyed my breakfast. I would recommend a visit. For those traveling on business I recommend having some cash for a tip. They are set up to take credit cards for your bill, but not for tips.

Traveling through St. Paul this and saw Mickey's. Had to stop in for breakfast. It did not disappoint. Blueberry pancakes were loaded with fruit. Bacon cooked perfectly. Highly recommend if you like classic diners.

Ate here after seeing Garrison Keillor at the Fitzgerald Theater. Tiny place, there was one stool open at the counter when I arrived. I think a lot of people come here for breakfast at all hours of the day. But I went with a burger ("California style), which was delicious. I was referred here by locals, since I was looking... More

Come as you are. Everyone feels welcome here. Have eaten here in a suit and tie or like last night in a Wild Jersey after the game. Located a few blocks east of the Xcel Center on 7th street with a small parking lot next to the front door. Two Saint Paul police vehicles escorted us. One in front of... More

OK. it's kind of cute and quaint. It would be cool to pretend you were a private detective, up late, needing a cup of joe before heading out on the next case. But really? This is it? I've lived in St Paul my whole adult life and people say one must hit Mickey's Diner regularly. I have had a meal... More

Being from New Jersey, I'm familiar with diners. But seeing one among the skyscrapers of St. Paul was unique. I decided to try it for dinner. Upon entering, I instantly felt at home. Like walking into Sam's Bar on Cheers, everyone says Hi. The place is small - half a dozen tables and a dozen bar stools. Cozy and comfortable.... More

This is the real thing. OK, they serve Coke here so I guess it is "The real Thing" times two. There are many "copycat" places all over America that want to imitate places like this... Heck, the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan has a diner similar to this one inside the museum (Lamy's) but the food there is overpriced... More
