This is the real thing. OK, they serve Coke here so I guess it is "The real Thing" times two. There are many "copycat" places all over America that want to imitate places like this... Heck, the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan has a diner similar to this one inside the museum (Lamy's) but the food there is overpriced... More

Mickey's Diner is across the street from the state capitol and is a busy place. The short order cooks work wonders on a hot, flat cooking service! This place makes the best hash bronx you've ever had and their coffee is just strong enough. There is a long counter and several booths. This is a relatively small place, so don't... More

Everything was great, except for the waiting time.. Could we say is because everything is made fresh. Food is awesome ... just wait and you will know.

This diner is an old original! You get to see them make your hash browns, pancakes, or whatever while you watch..........no messin around, just a blast to watch the staff and the locals who come in. Good food , good folks, takes you back in time.

Stopped in for a quick bowl of stew at dinner time. Nothing fancy here. Small bowl came that was overflowing with potatoes and carrots on the crunchy side. Meat and flavor was good but was not very nice to look at. Maybe will try again. Place is small. There were only a handful of people in the diner at the... More

Heard about Mickey's Diner from a friend as a place we had to go while in St. Paul. Luckily she was right! Fair warning, the place is SMALL so expect a wait if you go during breakfast or with any amount of people more than 4. The service was friendly and we were able to sit at the counter(there's only... All day breakfast was awesome. We ordered steak and omelette, and they really surprised us because of the huge plates. Also, the owner and chief were friendly. We really had nice time there!

This is a unique, fun eating experience. You eat in a tiny railroad car. There may be a wait but do wait. My son and I ate at the stooled area so could watch the cook flip pancakes, scramble eggs, brown up hash browns, flatten bacon - all on a long fry grill. (There are also a few booths off... More

Last Saturday morning, three of us took the Green Line to downtown St. Paul to have breakfast at Mickey's Diner followed by a stroll over to the Farmer's Market to do some vegetable shopping. None of us had been to MIckey's Diner before, so this was a mini adventure of sorts. We sat in one of the four booths located... More

Okay so it's in a sketchy neighbourhood - get over it. This place is genuine St. Paul history. The food is classic diner style - everything prepared right in front of you. I waited 25 years before eating here and I'm sorry I didn't eat here sooner. Enjoy a milk shake. The liver and onions are awesome!
