Beautiful decorations

This old Victorian mansion has great atmosphere. Our group of ten had great service. But the food is a mixed bag. Very expensive for our normal tastes, but the quality was very uneven. My $50 steak was dry even though prepared rare, as it was not marbled beef. Some of the others were very happy... read more

We stop in for a light bite and a glass of wine for happy hour. We were seated in the Parlor on the main floor in front of the wood burning fireplace. It was warm and cozy, on a chilly day. The wine was delicious the small bites on the happy hour menu in the bar were perfect. The happiest... More

I first went to Forepaugh's hoping for a glimpse of Molly (the resident spirit). Since then I am a semi regular. Why? You ask? The cheese curds changed my life. Deep fried cheese is great but when paired with chili lime glaze... They among wine, beer, flatbread (also delish), baked goat cheese, etc... Are offered at more than fair prices... More

We went for brunch last Sunday and will be back! It's on the semi-pricey end of brunch to most people at $23, but it does include a lot...and it's all amazing. You receive a complimentary Mimosa, OJ, etc. There are four dishes that are served endless family style: scrambled eggs, potatoes, meats and Eggs Benedict. The eggs were wonderful, but... More

I've wanted to eat here for many years and finally had my chance on January 31. We enjoyed everything about our experience: great atmosphere, excellent service, and our Beef Wellington and New York Strip were melt in your mouth delicious. We usually share a dessert and opted for the "Forepaugh's Classic"- Deconstructed Banana Cream Pie. This was one item that... More

Top 10 things I love about Forepaughs: 1) Top-notch service: the maitre’d, waiter & servers all were knowledgeable, friendly & welcoming. 2) Ambiance: this truly is a historic Victorian mansion originally built in 1870 & restored to authentically represent the era. 3) Elegant dining: an experience which is, in a word, excellent. 4) Menu choices, creativity & presentation: 5 out... Went for an early dinner before a show. I have been to the bar a number of times before Wild games (great option by the way - wonderful happy hour and affordable parking) but hadn't had dinner here in years. We had a very nice table on the second floor overlooking the park. the ambiance and service was excellent. The... More

Haven't been to this restaurant in many years, and decided to give it a try for a birthday celebration. Great ambiance, great service, food was good, but not great. Decorated beautifully!

Above average food in a beautifully restored historic mansion with good service. But it's overpriced. Steaks are $45 - $53 and if you want a veg or salad, it's another $8-10. Menu is a bit overwrought and lacks a unified style. Atmosphere was stiff, formal, making it hard to relax.

I'd made reservations months in advance, to make sure we'd get a table in one of St. Paul's most haunted establishments on Halloween. Turns out, I really didn't need to, Forepaugh's was not busy. We were seated on the third floor (with the most reported paranormal activity), without asking. My boyfriend and I were celebrating an anniversary, so we received... More
