Before going to the Ordway, I stopped at Forepaugh's bar for a drink and appetizer, ordering off the happy hour menu (one of my submitted photos). I was amazed by the Chinese Scallion Flatbread's value, flavor, and generous portion size for only $6.00! The bartender is a dead ringer of Peter Falk, which probably has little to do with gossip... Such a fun place and great history. Every five years since 1978 I have found myself here for dinner. The menu is much more creative than it was in years past and the taste of the food is excellent. The mood is both romantic and professional. The staff is efficient and friendly. Parking is valet. I like to sit in... More

This restaurant is located in an elegant old Victorian mansion. The Beef Wellington surpassed our wildest expectations. The scallops with fried pork were delightfully matched with fresh fruit. The waiter was attentive and catered to our every need. It was a cold snowy night but we were seated in a quaint parlour room with a roaring fireplace. Many unexpected gems... More

Very quaint with fireplaces and cozy setting. Very overpriced and the food was sub-par. For the price the food was terribly disappointing. Service was below average except for the bartender. Hostess did not make us feel welcome at all. Appeared that she wanted to go home. Won't be going back.

Our family of seven had a delightful dinner this past Saturday evening at Forepaugh’s. We were seated in a small upstairs room of this beautiful old mansion with a few other tables in the room. Despite a fairly long narrow table, conversation from one end to the other was no problem in this quiet, romantic setting. Our food was outstanding.... More

Not only the food and service are to die for so is the atmosphere. Dining in this old mansion with many the many rooms is worth the trip. I will be dining there every trip to St. Paul, MN

Thanksgiving=Nice atmosphere, but overly manipulated food. Started out well with cheese, but then downhill. One potato stuffed tortellini, a quarter of an apple "waldorf" salad, hard loaf of stuffing, salty dry ham and turkey-loaf-with watery potato....-really?

It is a great atmosphere, with a unique dining experience. Maybe you will find the ghost that is rumored to live in the old house. I have been many times, and I would highly recommend a visit, but if you are going for Steak, you have better choices for less money.

Forepaugh's is located in a beautiful old mansion in St. Paul and the bartenders, server, and especially the host were outstanding. Too bad the chef, no I won't say chef...must have just been a line cook preparing the food, was not near as good as the remainder of the staff. Must be hard to have to serve food you know... More

I googled Minnesota's most haunted places & Forepaughs was one of them. While on vacation, my friends & I stopped here for dinner. Although they were hosting a wedding reception & space was limited, they reassured us that they would find us somewhere to sit. We sat in a lovely spot next to a window, in the bar. The wine,...
