Full service Mexican restaurant & market, attentive & friendly staff, great value!

LOVE this place! Only regret is that it's my first time but will be back. Authentic, old school Mexican cuisine available via deli/take out or in full service restaurant. Started off with some chips-- whole grain style with two salsas brought to the table balanced with a margarita that was strong and crisp. We sat on some tall leather stools that turned out to be more comfortable than appeared. The entrees came with a healthy plate of beans rice and lettuce. The cheese enchiladas were stewed in a deep... More

A recent visit to El Burrito Mercado I felt it necessary to finally post a review - Since moving here from Los Angeles this has been my go to place to feed my Mexican food jones over the last 20 years. Lucky for me I live in their neighborhood. The meals are served cafeteria style in a casual environment. They... More

Great experience on my first visit home in 20 years. Friends took me out to dinner to this unique grocery store with a cafe line to choose your faire. Fresh Clean Friendly with authentic Mexican favors. Pick up some Guac, chips and salsa to go

We had lunch here and both got the enchiladas per the recommendation of the waitress. They were scrumptious. The salsa with the chips had a good kick and the atmosphere fit with a Mexican restaurant. Would go back.

El Burrito is a restaurant/full service grocery store. You can do the cafeteria style restaurant or the sitdown/service side. Both are excellent and well priced. The grocery store is huge, with about everything you can want for mexican cooking and dining. You should go just for the experience if not to eat.

We like Mexican food a lot and have gone to many different restaurants in the Twin Cities area. This one is a great place! It's in a section of St. Paul that is basically all Spanish speaking. There are three parts to the building, and it almost feels like you're in Mexico when you're there. There's the giant store with... More

fantastic Mexican market and incredible restaurant. Employees are always very helpful and they have a ton of things to purchase from South of the Border! If you go you have to stop for lunch as their entire menu into die for... Oh yeah and buy a bag of their fresh tortilla chips and you'll never go back to Tostidos again...

I've visited this location a few times and have always enjoyed it. If you prefer you can eat in the cafe/deli area or if you would like sit-down service with the option of alcohol they have a small yet nice restaurant area. The cafe seems from my visits to be regularly busy with less people in the sit-down restaurant. We... More

I visit at least every two weeks and have never been disappointed. If you're looking for recommendation, go for the green shredded beef enchiladas. Staff always polite and courteous. Even my 11 year old daugter requests to eat here and never struggles to find something she likes. For a kid to like the spice it must be good.
