This was our first group dinner at 128 Cafe since the change in ownership. The BBQ ribs remain one of the best options on the menu with their tangy unique sauce with a 'kick'. We also shared the roasted garlic appetizer and needed more toast to enjoy all of it. Members in our group who had sandwiches only received chips... More

I like this restaurant and visit occasionally. Among many things I like, the fish is fresh and delicious. Last week a Peach Melba had a delicately crumbed almond cake with peaches that may have been somewhat mulled (?) and fresh raspberries. The atmosphere is pleasant - maybe noisy once in a while but usually very comfortable, subdued and welcoming.

The food is quite good - not exquisite but interesting. For example, the barbeque sauce on the short ribs had an usual spiciness. But the noise level was close to intolerable. The restaurant has a few small tables outside. On a nice day, I would gladly return to one of those tables. But inside - never again.

Every year for my birthday we go to this restaurant, have for at least 15 years. I couldn't believe the limited menu and that it was printed on paper that looked like it came from a really cheap restaurant. The wine menu is very limited asked for a couple different kinds and they didn't have them. No more filet only... More

After hearing and reading about 128 Cafe for several years, my boyfriend and I finally had dinner there last night, and it did not disappoint. It has been under new ownership since September 2013, so I can't compare to the previous owner's tenure. We had to utilize valet parking for $5 since all street parking required a permit until 8... I have been visiting the 128 Café for 20 years. It's been my go-to restaurant when family and friends visit. My mom is in town so we naturally decided to go there. Needless to say, I am saying good bye to the 128 Café. First of all, it's a 40 minutes drive for me to get there so I expect... More

We had dinner on a Friday night and had made early reservations so we could get to the theater after dinner without having to rush. Our table was ready on arrival, and we were seated immediately. The seating area is small and busy, but we were not distracted by noise or other patrons. My wife and I shared a lovely... More

My husband and I have dined here many times but this was the first visit for my husband's parents. We've always enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service here, but this weekend's meal was especially memorable. My mother-in-law and I both ordered the salmon. She is picky about fish and declared it "perfection!" It was fabulous and paired with delicious caramelized... More

Food was fantastic as was the preparation of the steak and entire dish. The place is small which is nice, the wait staff was great. Just enough attention and information.' They also have a pour fee is you want to bring your favorite wine.

Usually when a place goes through a change of ownership, one of the first casualties is the menu. That is not the case with the 128 cafe. Jill Wilson the new owner of this gem was a former employee who was wise enough to know" If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it". Ian Pierce, the chef who was on... More
