To start with it took 20 minutes to get our drinks after we were seated. The waitress was not around often. Then the tea was flavored with fruits that made it taste nothing like iced tea (not mentioned on the menu). The collard greens were good but the catfish had a slightly fishy flavor to it. The home made ginger... More

Brasa has an amazing food selection for the types of foods I grew up eating which is very hard to find these days. To top it all off, the menu offers HEALTHY selections that are organic and locally owned. The chicken and catfish are my fav meats while I do enjoy the mac n cheese, the collard greens, and the... I never expected to find Southern style cooking indeed, soul food, in St. Paul. Brasa is a gem of a restaurant- there isn't a bad dish to be had here. The red beans and rice, yucca, mac and cheese, masa cakes, cornbread, pulled pork, braised beef, salads and brussel sprouts (yes, you heard me) are personal favorites. The homemade pepper... More

6 of us enjoyed "Grazing" for dinner. Shared a couple of bottles of wine, had a couple of Homemade sodas, and many different "Plates." If memory serves me right, and it really doesn't matter, we started with a pork belly, Crispy Yuca w/ Citrus & Garlic, Fried Plantains, & Homemade Chips & Guacamole. Moved on to a lovely apple, nut... More

This is a great way for people to try a little bit of everything. Order the medium size because the smalls are too small to share. The roast chicken looked amazing and was really a popular item among the other diners. I enjoyed the mac and cheese and the creamed spinach. The homemade ginger soda was very good. I wasn't... More

We were in town for a CrossFit seminar and found this restaurant nearby and went for dinner. The menu is awesome, a lot of protein and vegetable options. Most items are gluten free and those that aren't are listed on the top of the menu. We are not 100% gluten free but do have friends that are and we also... More

After a long day of yard and garden chores, my husband, son and I had a very relaxed dinner at Brasa last evening. We sat indoors, but near the floor-to-ceiling screen walls. The shade was appreciated, and the bug-free breeze welcomed. We had quite a long wait for our server to make the initial greeting and take our drink order.... More

If you are in search of a great gluten free meal this is the spot! Great chicken and pork! Yams were excellent as is the fried yucca. Super cool spot in the heart of St Paul.

I am pretty sure at some point I would get tired of creamed spinach, collard greens, shredded pork, corn bread, plantains and candied yams...but if I could eat this stuff every day, I'd be delighted. I have tried the pulled chicken sandwich and the chicken in pepper gravy too. Service is very good, menu options are plentiful but not overwhelming... More
