Our party of three had lunch here. It was a nice day so we ate outdoors on the sidewalk patio. There was only one server and she was busy. She did her best but was a bit overwhelmed. Water was brought and after scanning a limited menu, we ordered. Our server brought some chips (thick and oily) and three small... More

My daughter took me to Barrio for Fathers' Day. We order entres and guac & chips appetizer whic also came wih salsa. I had never had a bad salsa before. I prefer salsa spicy but a good sweet salsa, or one with just plain good seasoning . is fine too. Barrio’s salsa wasn’t spicy at all, nor was it sweet.... More

I've been to barrio dozens of times and I'm always pleased with it. I've been to the Mpls and Edina locations too. I like the St. Paul location best because it's not over crowded and it's quite large plus the view of Mears Park is great. I think I've tried almost all of their taco, enchilada, tamale tapas and have... More

The meal was delicious, and some what unexpected. Everything was interesting, and atypical. Would recommend to anyone.

This is a lovely place on the North side of Mears Park. Came after a local gallery reception and the place was friendly, the wait staff attentive, the food was excellent and presented in appealing fashion, everything well thought out. Guacamole was served in a Molcajete. Pork Carnitas Taco were delicious - meat was smoked and so flavorful, as was... More

We ate at Barrio last Friday evening after having in recommended to us by someone we met walking through the skyway system. It was a good recommendation. Their menu contains a lot of "small plates" (tapas). Being a Friday night in Lent, we were focused on non-meat choices. Their mahi mahi tacos were very tasty. I thought the spicy crab... More

Barrio is a great place to head in downtown St. Paul. Cool interior and good menu. We really like the small plates so you can get a sampling of lots of different stuff. The drink menu is great and the tequilas are tasty.

The fact that there were very few diners at lunch should have been a clue. Add to that the bucket placed on the floor next to our booth to catch water dripping from who knows where gave a bad first impression. The service, however, was quite congenial if a little unpolished. The food was not as well prepared as that... More

Wow- this place was delicious. I liked the atmosphere. Staff was knowledgable and even suggested that I order in "rounds" as some people over/under order. Items come just like they are on menu- taco is singular- again, order in rounds because it is deceiving. I had salsa and chips to start- delicious. Chips are salty and crunchy and delicious. I... My girlfriend and I were visiting the area for a weekend get away. Being from a small town we wanted to try something different, the hotel recommended Barrio. Smaller portions and good prices make it easy to try multiple items on the menu (including tequila). Staff was extremely friendly and helpful to two "newbies". The food was outstanding and trying...
