Went for afternoon lunch. Waited at a dirty table, which never did get cleaned. Service was slow. While waiting, noticed many dirty tables waiting to be cleaned. Actually restaurant was not very clean at all. Besides old food on tables, also in the bar area. Waiter took order, waited for a bit. Food was not what we ordered. Hamburger that... More

I think they're famous for burgers, but I had the fish sandwich. It was awesome! The place is a little pricey, but I think that is because of it's location so close to Mayo. Overall, good atmosphere & great food.

I am making this review based on very little experience at this restaurant, but I ordered one of their half-pound burgers and it was fantastic. That is the only time I ate food from Newt's, but when I get back to Rochester I will definitely try to get another Newt's burger.

Food was great, although it was a burger and they're hard to screw up. Best o - rings I've ever had. Also, thee worst service by a server ever. Waited till bartender delivered food to get a second drink because server never came back. Server never asked how anything was, she never once stopped back until our plates were empty.... More

This place has really good burgers and a big selection. Very reasonably priced. Pretty old school and I liked the popcorn machine. Just be aware that to get to the restaurant, you have to climb a flight of stairs. Might be difficult for some who are in town for a visit to the Mayo. They also had some interesting appetizer... When my daughter worked at the Mayo Clinic, we used to spend a lot of time in Rochester. We always tried to eat at Newt's at least once. We made a special trip to Rochester for lunch on our way to northern Minnesota for vacation to eat at Newt's. The burger was good & reasonably priced- but not worth driving... More

Newt's reminded me of bars from my college days; wood paneling, tacky wallpaper, framed stuff on the walls, bad carpeting, a popcorn machine and good music from the 60's and 70's, so I was prepared to have a fun time, but it ended up being just OK. My cosmo tasted like it had no vodka in it what so ever,... More

We looked online at the reviews before we booked and decided on the Kahler Inn and Suites. Some of the negative reviews had to be before they renovated the place; there were no problems with our room at all. We called them to make the reservation and found out that if you book directly with them you get free parking... More

Casual - great burgers - two locations in Rochester, Mn, Try the large 3/4 pound burger and split it with another person. A salad or fries come with it, and get a side of onion rings.

Went for lunch with my family, which included 2 kids and had a great time! Food was delicious and had plenty to take home afterwards! Fun atmosphere, kids could make a little noise without bothering anyone! Definitely one of our favorites!
