This review is for the downstairs Redwood Room, not the upstairs restaurant/bar which we've NOT be in. The food at the Redwood Room was awesome. One of us had the Pork dish and the other a Pasta Chicken dish. Both were excellent. The wait staff was very friendly. Unfortunately we had finished eating just as the music started. It was... More

300 First is always a good choice when dining out in Rochester. Their menu is creative, and the wine list and drink menu are excellent as well. The service is very well-paced, and a diner never feels rushed, either between courses or when the meal is finished. The ambiance is warm and welcoming too!

They had a great wine available the night we were there, and I wish I had written it down. I got a caesar salad with chicken, and was very unimpressed with the giant chunks of plain ol' lettuce. I was expecting a nice spring mix or something. Really, really wish I had gotten steak.

Service was slow and waitress not attentive at all. At one point my husband went to the bar and got himself another glass of wine because that's the only way he was going to get one. The food was acceptable, but bland and uninspired. We had to ask them to turn down the loud obnoxious music because we couldn't hear... More

There are restaurants that just plain make you happy to be in because how they feel. Add to that a menu with many great tasting choices and in a good location and you have a great experience. The décor in 300 First is indeed elegant yet rustic casual, in no small part due the creative use of the wonderful older... More

We just took my family to this restaurant for a holiday meal. We have dined here a few times but hadn't been back in a while. I really can't say enough about the ambience of this restaurant. It is warm and cozy, elegant and casual all at the same time. We all ordered a variety of things (Prime Rib, Burger,... More

The menu did not reflect how the food would be prepared. The risotto cakes we ordered were FRIED to a hard thick crust, with just a few teaspoons of actual risotto mixture inside a dense cornmeal type crust. The menu did not indicate the dish was fried, and we were very disappointed when the dish was delivered to our table.... More

We were at 300 First for a birthday celebration. The atmosphere rustic yet eclectic. The menu is rather short, but adequate and unique as well. Our party of people ordered a variety of items from the menu and everything was cooked perfectly and presented very nicely. Since we were there rather late for dinner (8 pm) my wife and I... More

We get to Rochester often and usually eat at our favorite Michaels which is always good or Victoria’s also a very good choice. With that said decided to give 300 First a try. What a nice surprise the food was terrific might be the best pork dish I have ever had. We were with family and the service was a... More

Delicious food! It was our first time here, and the waitress was very friendly and helpful. We will be back. We each had the Grilled Molasses Pork Tenderloin, marinated with coffee, molasses and thyme. Served with braised red cabbage, mashed potatoes and topped with a coffee-molasses sauce. Crème Brule for desert. Totally recommend it. The only thing I could suggest would... More
