Best Discovery for Steak and Steelhead Trout This Side of The Northwest

It is hard to fathom why this is not rated the best restaurant in Rochester, MN. First and foremost, the wait staff, the bar staff and the kitchen staff are attentive and fun. The ambience and mood of the place is both fun and romantic. And, the bar serves liberal drinks while one waits for... read more

We treated a group of friends to dinner here recently. The quality of the food and drink was reasonable, but dishonest practices left us with a very bad taste. When our waitress took everyone's entree order she smoothly asked "soup or salad?" with a tone to imply that these were included with the meal. Surprised to see additional charges I... More

I went as part of a large group including customers. We had pre-booked but ended up being split across a number of tables in one area of the restaurant which seemed a bit strange and created a feeling of exclusion. Anyway, service was fast and friendly, drinks were quickly served and all seemed well. Appetizers are mostly all deep-fried and... More

Probably the best restaurant in Rochester but this would pass muster in New York or San Francisco. Varied menu, meat or fish, good service, helpful hostess, romantic ambiance, good bar -- what more could one ask and not overly expensive.

Started with a "Smokin Martini" which was really an impressive presentation. They add a bit of dry ice to bottom of a nice size martini glass which causes the bubbling/smokey effect, and the drinks are very tasty! My husband and I split the "Boursin Chicken Breast" which was served over a bed of rice with a creamy boursin sauce and... More

I'm not sure why we waited so long to try 300 First. Actually, I do know why - I expected it to be Broadstreet with a new name. I was surprised that I barely recognized the place. Our food was great and so was the service. We will be back again soon.

A great restaurant for many reasons. Great food, ambience, nice wine selection and not too pricey. Their Kobe burger & french fries are fabulous and the Amish Blue Cheese salad is one of our favorites. There also other great choices on the menu. We find a reason to go there at least once a month!

This restaurant is one of the more upscale local favourites. I went to dinner there with a couple of friends last month while in town to visit family. It was ambience was interesting, somewhere between restaurant and pub with elevated booths and a few tables. The cocktails were tasty. At our table, we had beef steak, pork steak and a... More

This dining experience is one to treasure. Though you can't get to it from the tunnels and it is at the far north side of the downtown square it is worth the cab ride if you don't want to walk 4 to 6 blocks maybe more, depending on where you are but maybe more. You really don't want to miss... More

My husband and I dined at this restaurant on a Friday evening in July. We started with the Crispy California Roll which was delicious. My husband had the Bavette steak and I had the filet. Both of them were some of the best beef we've ever had. The mashed potatoes are out of this world! You must order them. I'm... More
