Looking for a great place for seafood so we thought we'd check it out. I had the Mussels Primaver my wife had the Apple Scallops. Both meals came out Luke warm, frozen ship was over cooked, 4 large "empty" mussel shells lined the plate I thought was kinda odd. I broke them up so they wouldn't be used the "garnish"... More

We had a weeknight dinner and the seafood appetizer was superb! Sauce and seafood very tasty. The pasta primavera did not have a great deal of flavor. The coconut curry was VERY spicy. Beware. My roasted walleye with seafood stuffing was on the special that night and it was excellent! The sauce and fish were the best. I would get... More

Good food, good cocktails, a nice bar. You can choose some nice picks among the menu, but the best are the mushroom soup and their FABULOUS and GIANT chocolate cake!! need a try.

I had an excellent hamburger with gorgonzola cheese and fries, plus a dark ale from the tap. I passed up the chocolate cake but you might plan to leave room for it--it looked stupendous. The atmosphere is comfy and casual.

The craft beer selection was excellent, but one chef is from New Orleans and his evening special was crayfish and shrimp etoufee that was excellent. Five stars except that we also went to Pescara and Mango Thai for two even more wonderful meals.

I thought the City Cafe was a typical bar like all the others in downtown Rochester, but it had a varied menu. My husband had a delicious Gorgonzola burger, and I had a unique fish and chips. Baked fish, home style potatoes, and deep fried pickles (not my favorite). I give them credit for trying something different with their menu.... More

If you have to fast before getting lab tests and must avoid certain foods for a period, I'd recommend City Cafe. They have a number of healthy options. I had seared tuna on peppers with rice. The food is well prepared, the service is quick and the atmosphere is pleasant. It's only a block from the Clinic and many hotels.

Ate outside in beautiful September weather. Everything was great. Had the parmesan grouper and it was so good with a delicious sauce. The salad was also excellent. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful and cozy. The service was top notch.

We visited here on a Sunday evening looking for someplace to eat downtown. Many places were closed. Nice outdoor patio and pleasant indoor seating. We had the bleu cheese appetizer and maple chicken breast. Both were exceptional! One of the best meals I have had in a restaurant. The waitress was very friendly also. I will definitely return.

We dined at a place that says it's a great seafood restaurant, and it was OK. Our server was brand new and very nervous, but otherwise nice. I ordered the Pecan crusted Florida Grouper, which they said was their "signature dish". It was actually somewhat overcooked, so a bit dry. The sauce was very nice, though, thankfully, so it helped... More
