This cafe is a great place for a burger, beef or salmon, and fries, servings are generous, food is served piping hot, outdoor seating is charming and intimate, service unhurried and cost is moderate. We visit this restaurant each time we visit Rochester

The homemade bread with pesto was delicious and the garlic and white wine mussels were likewise. My favorite was the ginger peach glazed salmon and my buddy's Rosemary Chicken was moist, tender and excellent. LOVE the strung lights of the alleyway seating; felt like Little Italy during a festival. The candles are a lovely touch and the whole is incredibly... More

City Cafe is a great place to eat & is close to the Mayo Clinic. It's in the downtown area and is a charming spot to eat. I like eating there but it isn't quite the experience when dining with my grandkids that I prefer.

The food is great and the cost is reasonable. I recommend fish or seafood dishes but everything on the menu looks great. If the weather is nice, sit on the patio in the alley.

On a recent trip to Mayo Clinic we happened upon the City Cafe one evening and had an excellent dinner of "Maple Roasted Chicken Breast which is served atop sharp vermont white cheddar fondue and topped with fresh greens, red onions, cranberries, pecans, garlic mashed potatoes & a warm bacon vinaigrette" and the wonderful "City Seafood Stew" which includes sautéed... We went here during our current visit to Mayo. My wife had a test where she had to restrict diet for a few days. The waitress went thru the menu, saying she could have any main dish with any side or other item on the menu and the cook would put it together! She got a somewhat unusualy combination, but... More

A beautifully restored old building in downtown Rochester that houses a great eatery. This time of the year it seems the patio is the place to be. Much more light out there, also. Great menu and lots of specials are offered. Service is very good. I love fish and my seared ahi Tuna was excellent. I would return and would... More

Quaint atmosphere, service was excellent. We were there for dinner - steak, seafood stew and seafood potpie. Steak was grisly, but tasty. Both seafood dishes very good with interesting mix of spices. Prices on the high side. Outdoor seating available.

A group of eight ate at this trendy bar/restaurant, and had everything from burgers to steak. I had the coconut rice bowl, delicious and Thai spicy with lots of curry. The room was quite noisy, making discussion all the way down the table difficult. The server was cheerful and knowledgeable, and willingly let everyone have separate checks without a gratuity... I enjoyed this place for dinner twice. Appetizers and entrees were delicious and reasonably priced. Weather was not warm enough to eat outdoors. Nice atmosphere inside and you could sit near or away from the bar depending on what is going on and if you wanted a more quiet dinner. Servers were prompt and knowledgeable of the menu. Dinner was... More
