Stopped on a Sunday evening around 7PM. Seated at the only available table. We visit Red Wing at least 3 times a year. The wait person was literally running around, and sweating probably due to the heat in the restaurant from the rotissiere. No air conditioning? We wanted to order pizza from the menu. Told no one was there to... More

When we walked into the restaurant you could see the chicken cooking and the smell made your mouth water. The service was excellent and the owner was stopping by everyone's table to see how the food was. The portions were very large and the taste was pretty good.

The restaurant is located next to the Country Inn & Suites, so I ate there twice. I had a steak once and a chicken dish recommended to me by my server once. Both were delicious. I wasn't sure about the chicken dish (it was some kind of signature dish--mashed potatoes, gravy, biscuit, and chicken?) but when I ask a server... More

We came to Red Wing on the start of a motorcycle trip. We asked locals where they'd recommend for dinner being that we had found ourselves in a hurricane. The SMOKIN oak was the answer....horrible. It should be called the chokin oak. Brisket was like taffy, but more chewy and less flavor. Baked beans...awful. The steak salad was even horrible.... More

We were in Red Wing just yesterday and decided to try this place out despite some reviews to the negative side, and found these reviews could not be more wrong. The aroma coming in the door was great, service was superb and the food nothing short of fantastic. I had the Memphis style pulled pork, and it was simply the... More

Came up to visit family and stopped by this place. The cheese curds were very good. Also liked the fact I could get beef stroganoff here, which is very hard to find in my neck of the woods. The brisket was also excellent. Overall a pretty good experience.

This restaurant was a bit out of the busy area of town and very easy to find. As we came in the door we were greeted with wonderful smells and the site of a very large rotisserie. I had the 4-rib dinner and it was so tender and tasty that I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves smokey... More

When my boy friend and I ate here I asked the staff person if I could trade my barbeque baked beans for something else she told me I could change it for mixed veg's. Now to me mixed veg's are carrots, peas and green beans. They did not say vegetable medley that has peppers and onions in it. I went... More

The restaurant is located along MN Hwy 61 in Red Wing MN and sits in front of a Country Inns and Suite's hotel. The exterior is designed with a log cabin look to it, giving it a northern Minnesota appearance. As you enter the building, you are greeted by a large wood burning rotisserie with dozens of chickens baking in... More

Whilst I was travelling back from Winona MN to Minneapolis we were hungry an stopped at a quirkly little place call The Smokin Oak. It look a nice little venue on the out skirts of Red Wing. We were greeted by lovely staff and the the spit rotisserie with awesome food cooking in front right near the door. The menu... More
