In search of a place to dine with family in town for July 4th, we headed out to The Cactus. With 3 adults and 3 kids under 7 in our party, we were seated immediately, ordered and after a short wait, our meals were delivered. Two of us had the pork chop dinner, one the seafood alfredo and another, 1/4... More

I believe this was the most popular place in town to be. There is a bar, family area, a fine dining area and even a small bowling alley. Had a very nice steak. Oh, you will want the au gratin potatoes for you side dish! Even though it's nicer dining you can still wear jeans, everyone else will be.

I was in town for business for 4 days, and I ate at The Cactus 3 times. They have a nice variety of food, and everything I had (Steak, chicken, walleye) was great! The pricing is reasonable--you can get a basic $8-12 item or go for the more pricey steaks and seafood.

For the most part this is a nice place to eat. I have had more good experiences than bad - sometimes service & food can be a bit slow even if not busy. One of the areas that needs t be taken care of is the bathrooms!

Love love their pasta. I think it is a little spendy but I still love to go there, in fact when my mom comes up that is where we always take her. I work at a local hotel and I always tell guests to go there and most of them like it.

Quite possibly the worst excuse for a restaurant I've ever experienced.4 Visits in the last 6months, each time worse than the previous.I've experienced appetizers served with the dinner, after the salad, rail drinks served as premium cocktails, waitresses clocking off and going home between the drink order and food order, and the never present hostess to seat you.the entire first... My husband and I normally love the Cactus, but this trip was a bust. We ate there on Tuesday, Oct. 8th for our end of summer treat before heading home to the cities. My husband ordered a Chimichanga, and then the waitress came back and said they had no Salsa! What?!!!! This was at 5:30pm!!!!! I had ordered the Beef... More

Thank you for the feedback! I apologize for running out of salsa however, it is a homemade recipe, and time simply did not allow to complete this item, as for the spaetzle, our oktoberfest menu started late last week, and has gone over with rave success and it was impossible to anticipate the volume we would go through. Again, thank... More

They forgot to not put croutons on his "gluten-free" salad but other than that it was yummy! Husband said the prime rib was the most flavorful ever! The shrimp cocktail was flavorful and the rolls were ok. The vegetables were cooked perfectly. Nice atmosphere for couples or families. Open late in a small town!! WOO HOO!! they said open until... The Cactus in Perham MN was quite a surprise. We went there because our motel (The Crossings-which was a very nice place to stay), offered 10% discount. The add said it was casual fine dining with a bowling alley, so we didn't expect much. But the restaurant is totally separate from the alley and beautiful log cabin style. We really... More

we visited the restaurant for a first time because we had a gift certificate. The menu had a wide selection of foods. There were several specials which our server ended up not telling us all about. At the last moment she informed us that crab cakes were available. we ordered crab cakes as an appetizer, they fell apart as we... More

Wkndfarm - we greatly appreciate the time to a review. While I apologize for your experience lacking what you had hoped for. Generally our prime rib is a local favorite, and people rave of our house made au gratin potatoes. While it appears that your experience left something to be desired, I would like to offer you a gift card... More
