Down Home Good

If you want some solid, family style home cooking, at a good price, the West Forty is worth a stop. The menu (breakfast, lunch and dinner) is solid American country cuisine - not gourmet, but good basic. I had a pork chop special with all the fixin's! Very good. They even let me replace my potatoes... read more

We had tried West 40 8 years ago and were not happy. This past weekend we had friends up for a visit and decided to give the place another chance. We are glad that we did as the food has much improved. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We will come back.

OK, so we've been here a couple times, hoping it was just a fluke... But even when it's not busy, the service is just not good... Not friendly or attentive, food is OK, definitely nothing spectacular... You'll be lucky if it's warm... It does have a nice atmosphere, decor is fun...

We were in a group of 7 people we all ordered prime rib or the all you could eat fish fry on Friday night. Both plates were excellent, the wait staff was right at the table when ever we requested additional drinks etc. The prices were very reasonable.

Great food at reasonable prices. Atmosphere is fun--old time farming equipment and signs. A casual, relaxed atmosphere.

We were in, ate, and paid our bill in 30min. Service was great. Food was great. Good portions for the price.

This is a fake cracker barrel, which I hate. If you want run of the mill stuff this is your place. Food was ok. Menu very generic. I had the fish sandwich with fries. Fish hot fries cold. Service was fine and the place was packed.

Our meal and our service was great as usual. Growing up on a farm, I always enjoy the signs, tractors and trucks that help create the rural atmosphere at this restaurant. Good home cooking at this restaurant!

This used to be a favorite of ours in Park Rapids. This summer, something has changed. We have tried it several times and the disappointment continues. The most recent visit this past weekend we did not even get waited on. A waitress seated us, and that was the last we saw of a server in person. We left after 15... More

Came here for breakfast- took over an hour to get our food. Inattentive waitress. Average food. There are better places in town.
