Family restaurant with great service

We eat here about once a week during the summer. Good food and bar. Friendly Minnesota atmosphere. They make great desserts from local fruit, like cobblers.

Went to the Hilltop for the first time in late August and was not WOWed. The food was average and I thought a bit pricey for what you received. My husband had the ribs which were not as good as the ones he makes and my walleye was so-so. My brother in law had chicken that was dry. Salads were... More

We stopped at the unassuming Hilltop for Sunday dinner and were treated to a classic Minnesota super club experience. The service was efficient and friendly, and the food was excellent and reasonably priced.

A little small. Very well done offerings for this country. The boys in the kitchen do something special because everything just tastes great. See photos which is something I don't usually do.

We are in the middle of the Northwoods with NYC food! Fantastic service and Jake the Chef knows his way around prime rib and St. Louis ribs! Locally grown ingredients and a chef who is inspired! This is a must stop ace!

I had the Almond Crusted Walleye and my two sides were salad and broccoli. The meal came with bread which I didn't try. We were welcomed with a smile and we did have reservations. Our server was very attentive. A busy place and the ladies restroom was painted with a picket fence & flower mural with butterflies. Very pretty!

We met friends here, we had reservations and were promptly seated. Very good menu. I chose broiled walleye, was offered several ways. I like there coleslaw, not too sweet or creamy. Walleye was tasty but was not hot.

We frequent the Hilltop Inn. It is near our lake home on beautiful Long Lake at Park Rapids. The restaurant is family owned and run and carries with it all the pride in ownership that that implies. The food is always much better than merely good. It is great. Honestly, the Hilltop has the best fried chicken anywhere ever. The... More

They had something to make everyone in the family happy. The food was down home and tasty. The fresh corn was a nice touch.
