We like Chapati very much and go there about once per year when we're in town. THe portions are huge and definitely sharable. Be careful of the spice level. Even 'medium' was quite spicy and we enjoy a little heat. We have found the service to be very attentive- no problems there. Try the Lassi-- very refreshing.

Chipati is a popular restaurant in Northfield and for good reason. It offers authentic Indian dishes in an approachable environment. The food is great. There is a lunch buffet that is a fun way to try a variety of dishes.

We only ordered samosas, naan, and two entrees, but all of them were pretty ordinary. The samosas had a nice crispy crust but very simple feeling, without much texture. The onion chutney served with them was new and tasty, but in the end I preferred the mint sauce. My chicken was spicy, as advertised on the menu, but there was... More

I'd heard that the service was slow, but we were dying to try it anyway. We were pleasantly surprised at the service. While perhaps not the most attentive, it was really just fine. We had a variety of plates, which we shared. Every dish was great! Prices were fair. We'll return and keep coming untless the service is a problem.

Nice to have a decent Indian restaurant in Northfield... thanks to a transplanted Brit owner. Food very good, prices fair, but service is mega slow. And have been there three or four times, and it is always like that, not just an isolated occasion. If you are not in a hurry, great place to try Indian food.

I did not care for Indian food at all, even that served by my cousin's wife who is Indian. However, the food at Chapati changed my mind! We ate there with friends who knew what dishes they enjoyed, and we were not disappointed. I can't remember any of the dishes we ate, except the naan bread, but every thing was... More

The service is much to be desired here. They are slow serving meals and tried to turn us away on a Friday night because the kitchen was "too busy". We had them put us down on the waiting list, gave them our name and cell no., and went to a bar close by (within the same building). They never called... More

We ate at the lunch buffet, and all three of our children (all under 13) enjoyed the food, as did we. The chicken garam masala was really hot and spicy, and the chicken methi was also exceptionally yummy. Our children enjoyed the tandoori chicken, rice, naan, mango pudding and more. The meat was white meat, not tough remnants or less... More

We went for Sunday lunch and the food was amazing. The price was fair and the buffet was just spectacular. Our server was very nice and the place was very unique! We WILL be back again!

By the smells coming from the kitchen indicate Chapati is very promising. The sign outside says the restaurant closes at 9 PM. Going at 8:45 PM you find out that seating stops @ 8:30. Now that doesn't smell so good.
