Blast from the past

Went for dinner Saturday July 4th. Had not visited for many years. It was exactly as we remembered. Old decor but clean. Working old-time juke at each table complete with all the oldies. Service was excellent. Ribs were every bit as good as in as we re-called.

Staff was friendly and polite. However, we really wanted German food. This is an American place with a few German like items on the menu. The food was not German. We had lived in Germany for many years and were expecting real German food as they tout themselves as being a German Town. If you want German food do not... More

If you like German food this is the place to go. Great traditional German dishes. They have old time tabletop jukeboxes with music from Sinatra and Dean to Sonny & Cher. Servers are friendly and fun. The American food was average at best so if you want seafood, steak or even the "famous ribs" you may want to try somewhere... More

My husband and I stopped here for dinner, looking for good German food. The table was dirty and in need of repair. Two groups at nearby tables were so loud that my husband and I couldn't talk to each other. Waitress was unfriendly, although it could be that we just couldn't hear each other. Soup was good, rest of meal... More

My husband and I set out on a road trip and ended up in this quaint little town. We were hoping for great German food as my husband had been stationed in Germany for two years and wanted me to experience the great food he had while there. In asking we were directed to kaiser hauf by a few locals.... More

Visiting a German town, we asked at our hotel for a recommendation for a German restaurant & were sent here. We were curious about the ribs, a house specialty. They were delicious! Very different from any we've had before. The schnitzel also was very good. Service was friendly. The décor was a bit outdated, but as long as the food... More

Our party of six (3 senior couples) dines at Veigel's Kaiserhoff on a Tuesday during May. The decor is what one should expect in a quality German restaurant. Our waitress was pleasant and helpful in answering our menu questions. Our food was well prepared, tasty and plentiful.

This place reminded me of an old supper club that has seen better days........granted - we were there on a Monday night so it wasn't busy but to have have half of the dining room shut down with the lights off - it created an odd atmosphere. I didn't order German food so my food was just average - my... More
