The food is good wether for lunch or dinner. Nice outdoor patio for an evening glass of wine or cocktail. This location is for sale again so better check it out before it's gone.

The food was good and smelled great. The atmosphere was fantastic and the view, definitely wonderful. My steak was good but a bit bland. The waiter took bread to other tables but not ours. I thought the walleye was all you could eat but the 2 guys at our table were never offered additional fish. I somewhat wished I would've... More

Outside dining here is wonderful.Great view. Usually the food here is good but it seems like every so often we have a problem. Last night there were 4 in our party. 2 ordered the elk burger, one ordered rare and the other medium rare. The medium rare was done fairly well but the one ordered rare was very well done.... More

This old, historic building built in the 1930s was quaint and beautiful in its setting on the river. However, we were extremely disappointed by the food selection...not much, total bar food type, and not much variety. Then our service was horrible that night....even to get our beer and wine (which you'd think a bar would make happen FAST). Luckily, it... More

Usher's House sits on the edge of parkland overlooking the Red River in a WPA Depression era historic building. The front half of the building houses a wood paneled tavern and the back area contains a striking glass-walled white table cloth venue with its own menu and a stunning view of the river [and an approaching thunder and lightning storm... We were looking for an interesting venue for a girls late lunch/early dinner. I found Usher's on Yelp! and thought we would try it. We were delighted to learn that they had 50 percent off of their wine for happy hour, with a great selection including some French options. The food was great, the service was terrific and the view... More

I have lived in the area 20 years and seen this restaurant change hands so many times with no improvement- it's so frustrating because the location and views are awesome. I try to go every few months with optimism, but nothing has changed: The food is bland and seems pre-frozen and packaged; the service is consistently very slow, we have... More

One of the Fargo-Moorhead area’s gems. Ushers is located within the former site of the American Legion. The building was built in 1936 as part of the Works Progress Administration, which was set up under President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s New Deal plan to get people back to work during the Great Depression. This historic building sits on the Red River... More

On our way to Fargo from Minneapolis, we stopped here for lunch -- and what a brilliant choice! We sat in the back area to take in the view of the park with the Red River cutting through. Our waitress, Erin, recommended the special: the Hog Wings [wrapped in bacon] with a mango glaze and side of pasta salad. And... More

This is a great little restaurant in a restored WPA building overlooking the meandering Red River. The menu has a great variety of sandwiches, salads, and more substantial meals. One of us had the crab cake BLT and the other went with chicken Caesar salad (with a great home-made dressing). Both were excellent! Although we skipped dessert, the choices sounded... More
