Stopped in for a drink with friends and stayed for dinner. Nice bistro feel atmosphere and the food was good too. Nice selection of fish, chicken or burger. All around nice local spot.

I enjoy good food and don't mind paying for it, but the new menu at Jack's is ridiculous. Our waitress informed us that the new chef was concentrating on tastes and textures in "small bites". She wasn't kidding about the small bites. The beet salad was a beet sliced into four sections with greens and cheese piled into four tiny... More

News of a new chef drew us to try Jacks and we were not disappointed. Deliciousness reigned in a fun evening of talking eating and drinking. Great value wine list too. It's worth a check out of all Twin Citians or regular visit for South Minneapolis folk.

Lovely reinvention of the old Java Jack's Coffee House, beautiful decor, beer, wine and of course great coffee. Serving breakfast, lunch, happy hour and dinner. Jack's Cavern downstairs is a great place for singer/songwriter music and is available for private parties. Catering also available. It's like the basement we wish our parents would have let us have in the '70s.... More

Found the place driving by and decided to head to dinner. Found the best scallop and risotto entree I have ever had! Sat at the bar and had some prosecco as well as the carrot cake. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was eclectic and inviting. I especially liked the garage doors that allowed for an outdoor feeling! It... More

Reopened with a great menu . . . But this place badly needs a new manager. Servers were wondering around, disinhibited, and obnoxious . . . Long waits . . . . (why have four staff members . . . Not doing anything ??) Terrible salad, mediocre pizza . . . Real disappointment. Disasters the last two of three visits... More

Jave Jacks is much more than coffee. We have had breakfast and lunch here. High quality food, friendly service and nice atmosphere. The prices are very good. You can actually have a decent breakfast for less than $8.00. A Veggie Burger with great fries, and a Jack's burger with a side salad, diet coke and big coffee was $22.00. They... More

The old Java Jack's re-invented itself as a restaurant that also has a coffee house service. They have not figured out what they want to be - coffee shop or neighborhood restaurant - and the customer pays the price. Went the other night for dinner. Very few people in the place. It appeared that a number of people who worked... More

Don't bother, bad food, bad service. Ambiance is good. Parking is a problem in the winter. They should have stuck to coffee.
