Fine food; enjoyable when quiet.

Two family couples came on an early Sunday evening when it was rather quiet (not counting the hard rain that hit while there). This is a converted industrial building with seating in one open room, bar on one side, kitchen open on one end. Our server was pleasant, engaging, informal and attentive... read more

Read some mixed reviews here, but thought the brunch was really good. A great mix of breakfast and lunch items as I often find myself trying to decide between the two. Fairly hard to find in Minneapolis (short of Tilia and a few others): a great Reuben. Great beer selections as well.

We had dinner here recently and the experience was very positive! In my experience, Red Stag offers much better than supper club fare--but that's probably just their tongue-in-cheek... It was early, just before Happy Hour closed (6 p.m.), so my Significant Other ordered a sparkling wine and I ordered the standard bar white--both very drinkable, and only $4! Then--we split... More

Our group of 5 went here for a business dinner mid week. They were obviously training new wait staff and we had a crowd around the table. That was a bit distracting when trying to have a discussion but the service was good. The wine list was reasonable given Minnesota is better known for beer. 3 of the 5 elected... More

My niece and I shared a vegetarian entree, a green salad and a side. I am not a vegetarian. The "Autumn Equinox" special was truly mouthwatering, Oooh-Aaaah delicious. Acorn squash, grilled tofu, wild mushrooms and other really interesting flavors and textures mixed artfully. We have eaten at many good restaurants this trip, but this was my best meal yet. The... We chose this restaurant because we heard they had the best cheese curds in town. Sadly, I wasn't impressed. The service was not good and I felt the food was overpriced. The cheeseburger wasn't very tasty (plus the order was wrong - but I ate it anyway because I don't like to make a waitress feel bad). For the record,... More

Great place that recreates a "Wisconsin Supper Club" except the service was awful. Had dinner with friends on a quiet weekday night when the place was quite slow. Took forever to get a drink, which is a Wisconsin no no! also, put in an order for appies and they forgot one. After bring it to the attention of the "... More

We went with friends for a quiet Monday night dinner. There were three or four groups out on the street, and probably five tables inside, one of which was a big group. After getting there and not having any service for 20 minutes, we finally went up to the bar to get drinks. Finally our server came over, very apologetic,... More

Sat outside on the sidewalk on a beautiful evening. The dinner was fantastic. We ordered 4 different items and all were prepared to perfection. Loved the option to sit outside but the chairs are the most uncomfortable chairs ever. For such a nice place a little more investment in the outside seating would match everything else that is offered.

I am usually a steak person, but was going out on a Lenten Friday a couple months ago and it was a blessing in disguise...The special of the night was Ahi tuna with rice noodles and an Asian glaze/sauce. It was absolutely one of the best meals of my life. The service was awesome and they have some amazing cocktails... More
