Perfect quiche

Came in for brunch on a Sunday with a group of friends. Was really convenient to find seating inside! I ordered the quiche which was so wonderful!

This place is solidly ok - but as a perhaps confused St. Paulite, I'm confused. Why would people go here when French Meadow Bakery & Cafe is half block away. Common Roots is ok but I'm much more impressed with French Meadow. FM has two large rooms, taller ceilings. Again, nothing wrong with Common Roots - just don't see why... More

Common Roots uses local produce and sustainable practices in their food and beverages. My husband and I ALWAYS order bagels and cream cheese from Common Roots Catering when we host a brunch in our home. This establishment has delicious food, and seasonal menu, and great beers on tap. Stop in for a cafe and bakery treat, or indulge in a... More

Eight of us went here for a team lunch and most of us really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The menu is small but they have options for vegetarians as well as those needing Gluten-free options. Per usual for an urban coffee shop/café there was art by local artists on the walls for sale that added to the charm... More

Fresh food, competently prepared. Very good veggie burger. Relaxed atmosphere; friendly service. A good choice for breakfast or brunch.

We had several really good breakfasts while in the Twin Cities, one of these was at Common Roots Cafe. Not only was the coffee fresh and good, the food was delicious as well. I had the farmers breakfast and the folks at CR where only too happy to accommodate my dietary needs and make a substitution for me (If a... More

When I am in Minneapolis on business I like to take a walk that brings me by Common Roots. This morning I stopped and had a bagel with lox and all of the fixings. And coffee. A great place to enjoy breakfast, read the newspaper and people watch. Looking forward to my next visit.

We were visiting in August and we had read about French Meadow Bakery on this street and decided to go. But when we parked a few blocks down the street we ended walking by Common Roots and from one look in the window it felt more like what we wanted so we checked it out. It's basically a big coffee... Although I have only bee there for breakfast and lunch, no complaints about the food! The staff is friendly, the prices have something for everyone, and there is plenty to choose from. Best part is that it's often local and organic!

They really make their own bagels and I am disappointed when they run out. Locally owned ,community and environmentally responsible. They feature locally sourced when ever possible. Limited, but often changed menu, gets the most quality out of a small facility. Ya want delicious or a lot of drab ho hum? Ya want fancy smancy or comfy and good?
