We've been to Saffron a few times but felt this recent experience to be lacking. The menu options seemed quite limited. We ordered the lamb tangine and gnocchi along with cauliflower and Beef Kubbeh apps. The apps were good but we felt lacked some of the great flavors experienced in the past. The lamb tangine was ok but the portion... More

Saffron restaurant lifts Mediterranean / North-African cuisine to a gourmet level, with subtle play on classic Mediterranean ingredients and North-African spice combinations. The hotness level is moderate, but the aromatic spice combinations are sublime. The decor is modern, with clean and colorful lines. The service is prompt and expert. Many unique flavor combinations point to a chef who is experimenting... More

We just moved to down town Mpls. So this was our first night out on the town and it didn't let us down! We had a wonderful server Katie who helped us pick out some fabulous tapas. The hummus sultan,(creamy garlicky goodness,) slow cooked green beans, middle eastern sausage, fried cauliflower were all to die for. The sea bass ,... More

We heard a lot about this place and were excited to try it out. Although we made reservation, there weren't many people on Saturday evening. After we were seated the server took ages to take our order. Moreover he didn't refill our water and we had to ask him on multiple occasion. We ordered turk hummus for appetizer..which was really... I celebrated my birthday here with our family. I am a vegetarian and was happy to find several items on the menu for me. Of course, at a Mediterranian restaurant, we had to try the hummus and it didn't disappoint. For meat lovers, they also had several hummus variations with meat. We also shared the Giant Beans and Fried Cauliflower.... More

We usually order off the appetizer menu and share several dishes with a group. Portions are large enough to share. Absolutely delicious!

We tried this for a casual Friday night dinner and we weren't disappointed in the food. We especially enjoyed the variety of non-alcoholic beverages available with each of our party of 5 ordering a different one and sharing tastes! Service was a tad slow but we overlooked that minor issue.

I went to Saffron with a mall group of professional colleagues on a Friday night. Saffron is in the warehouse district in downtown Minneapolis a busy area with many restaurants, bars and night clubs. Saffron is a Mediterranean cuisine restaurant but its atmosphere was no exception with a busy young professional crowd. As vegetarian ordered one of the two vegetarian... More

My adult daughter choose this restaurant because the menu offers a bit more adventurous eating options. We were disappointed. We started with a couple of fun and reasonably priced cocktails. We tasted and shared our way through several options our favorite a vegetarian tangine. Prompt friendly service added to good but not great food made for a nice evening.
