Lost a Little!

I haven't been to Saffron in a few years. I could not wait to go. But I was a little disappointed. The food was just ok. With all the restaurants in Minneapolis this was always on the top of my list. When we arrived there was barely anyone there. So I had a feeling something had changed. The food... read more

We had been to Saffron before, but it had been a few years since our last visit. The comfortable atmosphere and seating had not changed (so perhaps decor is indeed due for an update) and the menu was just as interesting as last time. We began with the fried cauliflower and an order of the marinated olives and pickles--tasty but... More

Saffron could not give me a reservation at the time I requested but when we walked in we were able to be seated due to a cancellation. The service was very good- not overly fast since the server had several tables but she was very knowledgeable and patient with questions. The platter of dips with pita bread was a great... More

My sister has taken me to some excellent restaurants in Minneapolis so when I walked into saffron I was wondering why she was taking me there. The banquette seats were stained and the other furnishings just seemed a little rundown. The food more than made up for the decor. We shared the mushroom and chicken croquettes which were a bit... This is a wonderful restaurant when you want a fine-dining experience with a new ethnic cuisine that is off the beaten path. Delicious!

My wife and I returned to Saffron for our anniversary and again, had a wonderful meal. As always, the food and service are great. We started with appetizers of persian yogurt salad with cucumbers as well as fried cauliflower and both were superb. My wife had an arugula salad and a goat cheese dumpling with mushrooms in a mushroom broth... More

Arrived to meet friends that highly recommended this eatery. Our friends knew about the sharing of the food items. So, we all had fun exploring what each would like to try and shared all of our selections with each other. I encourage potential diners to share. The food was prepared perfectly and the fun cocktails were a big hit, especially... More

One of our favorite restaurants, anywhere. Each dish is a wonderful blend of flavors you aren't going to find anywhere else. Things that sound simple-beans, potatoes, cauliflower-are amazing in their complexity and taste. You can even forgo the main courses and do nothing but sample the huge assortment of unique appetizers. Not to be missed.

The starters is what defines this place! A small list but exquisitely prepared. The entrees are ok and the choice is small. A good range of wines from different parts of the world.

I have wanted to eat here for a long time & finally had the opportunity. This has to be one of the best restaurants in the city. It is wonderful Middle Eastern food that is a favorite of mine. We had a a wonderful waiter who answered all our questions & had some great suggestions for our meal. The food... More
