Very good Turkish/North African

I am a huge fan of the cuisine and was not disappointed even though execution is a bit uneven. The flavors are there and the prep can be excellent ad with the paella croquettes ( which would be a staple order for me). Figs and Foie was heavier on the Figs than the Foie and let's face it -- you... read more

Went to Minneapolis to experience a weekend of different ethnic foods. Saffron was our evening destination and it didn't disappoint us!! From the hostess to the many servers who were assigned our table we experienced nothing less than superb service!! Our water glasses were never empty as we all were all heavy water drinkers that evening. The many different varieties... More

My husband and I had dinner last night at Saffron for the first time. Our dinners were delicious. I had the lamb shank tagine which was really delicious. The broth had a refreshing, (think cilantro) spicy flavor and was served piping hot. I don't know what combination of spices were used but the tagine had distinctive and complex flavors which... Great food, amazing Mediterranean Flavors. Friendly staff, non-pretentious and not the me-too restaurant. If you want really good food, service, and a nice but not over the top restaurant this is the best choice in Minneapolis.

We've eaten all over the US and all over the world, and we've never had a better meal than we had tonight at Saffron. The chicken and porcini croquettes (with porcini salt) were stunning, but so were the beef, ham, and manchego croquettes. Then there was the lobster orzo. Just stunning, ever bite, ever savory moment. And the Musar Jeune... More

I've been here twice (the most recent, March 2015), and I like it. The menu is fun, with very creative and not solely Mediterranean meals. I have twice had the "figs and foie" starter and it is wonderful--just three small nuggets but oh so rich and sweet. The tagines are good, though I was disappointed with my lamb shank tagine... specialty cocktails are awesome. The fish and tangines are fab. Appetizers are interesting and great.

We went to Saffron for dinner. The food was good and enjoyable (although they were on the small side for the quality level). What was more of an issue is that the dinner felt like a maximization process for turning the table over to get to the next group. And, our waiters stopped by so much to ask us about... More

We were it town for the Minneapolis food and wine festival and to celebrate my 50th birthday. Out of all the restaurants in town, I chose this one to celebrate based on the reviews, the unique cuisine, and the proximity to our hotel. Several days in advance I made a reservation for 6:15 for 7 people and received a confirmation... More

Dining at Saffron is a lovely experience. The interior is painted brick red, and the space is quite cozy. We have eaten there a number of times. Our last experience was quite typical. If you like craft cocktails, they have an incredibly unique list of choices. I had something called Sophisticated Funk, which was gin mixed with cardamaro – a... More
