I visited after a trip to Santaland at Macy's. It made for a lovely evening. The food hold up to the Macy's, Field's tradition.

Great holiday tradition. Oak paneled room dates back to 1947. Nice ambience with roaring fireplace and great menu. Wild rice soup and most menu items are outstanding including the pot pie.

They don't take reservations, it's way up on the 12th floor of Macy's, it's downtown so parking is a challenge, but that doesn't deter anyone. Is there an old-school restaurant where everyone can take mom or grandma or both during the holidays? This is it. Good food, they serve beer, wine, and cocktails, and the food is great.

The Oak Grill is located in the upper level (12, I believe) of the Macy's on Nicollet in Minneapolis. Entering this beautiful dining room is a walk into the past of very fine dining. The service was excellent in every respect for our party of four and service dog. The food was simply outstanding beginning with the mouth watering popover.... More

First of all, let me explain that my wife and daughter accidentally discovered Macy's fabulous store on Nicolett Mall in downtown Minneapolis last summer when we were attending the annual meeting of my company (Lifetouch). They have raved about that restaurant ever since. So this year, my wife and I stayed over the day after the meeting ended and explored... More

We were there to celebrate my father-in-law's 80th B-Day. It's one of his favorite restaurants. There was nine of us in our party. Ok, here it goes: delicious fun drinks (hibiscus mojitos.) Our server (Gonzalo) came to apologize that our food would be another 3-5 mintues longer due to the kitchen preparing for a party of 40. Ok, no biggie,... More

Now and then one has a craving to return to the days of dark wood paneling, linen table clothes, polished silverware and friendly waiters in black tie. Well, here it is, pretty much the whole package. Their famous popover is so light you will be amazed that it does no float above the plate it is delivered on. I ordered... More

I Dined here recently. Tasty Burger with an unusual tomato topping. An accommodating Bartender made me one awesome Dirty Martini.

Amazing food, equally amazing atmosphere and service second to none. Our server Gonzalo was very pleasant. Diana the who greeted us and sat us was a wonderful employee as well. The prices are ridiculously low and the food is the best.

Great food, low prices, and all in a wonderful space. Dark paneling, fireplace, great decorations for the holidays, etc. We'll be back for sure...either for the chicken pot pie or the meatloaf, but for the popovers for sure!
