Delicious food, elegant atmosphere, superior service

This is one of my favorite restaurants. The restaurant is in a beautiful Art Deco era building near downtown. The dining rooms are elegant, but relaxed, high ceilings with different crown moldings in the different rooms, painted a warm yellow/gold hue. The tables are far apart. There is a feeling... read more

We were looking for a fancy place to eat, that had a 5-10 course meal optiom.anf we got it! Not only was it everything we had in mind, but the food and staff were excellent as well! And the prices were not too bad either! You get what you pay for! We will definitely be back when we come to... More

La Belle Vie ranks up there with the best restaurants in the world...with prices to match. We had an extraordinary meal...the 5 course tasting meal with wine pairings. The service staff makes this a memorable occasion. For us it was a graduation celebration...who doesn't celebrate kids becoming financially independent!! Every course and every glass of wine was superbly matched and... More

We didn't have a special occasion but I can imagine that you go there for one (personal or business). Friendly professional and helpful service from the staff and an excellent chef in the kitchen. We took the five course dinner and enjoyed the taste and compositions very much. Can't describe it in words, it was an experience! Sometimes you just... More

This is another restaurant in a beautiful building, just outside of downtown. They offer three levels of tasting menus plus ala carte. The service was top notch and so was the food. I understand this is a new chef who has only been there about a month. Let's hope he stays and continues to provide the excellent food we had... More

Incredible ambiance, perfect food. The server was a gem and knew the food and wine intimately. Will definitely be back soon even though I am from out of state!

LBV has been in the news because several key members of its staff have moved on to other restaurants. We were a little nervous about this visit, but LBV continues to reign as the best fine dining establishment in the Twin Cities. Quiet elegance, superb service, and leading edge cuisine all come together here. Our group of four took the... More

Overly quiet ambience on a Thursday evening in a wonderful room and building. Excellent professional waitstaff not at all stuffy. Limited menu with many unappealing components felt very restricting ( just won't eat foie gras, blood sausage, or bunny rabbit), but best known for dining 'flights' of preplanned sequential courses, which we did not have. New menu starts in late... More

What a a great night - valet parked, smart dress required, converted hotel turned restaurant and condos. Bar was busy, trendy and beautiful. High ceilings with a 1920s flair. Waitstaff was knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. We ordered cocktails then had the Chefs Tasting Menu with wine pairings. Then we ordered coffees and split a full size dessert. I have to... Dinner is a event at La Belle Vie. The Chief's tasting menu and wine flight will set you back but it is worth it. Many restaurants are trying to be novel and have exotic tastes and flavors but do not execute well. La Belle Vie puts out not only novel food that is presented beautifully but executed extremely well. The... More
