There was a time in my life that I'd run screaming from a restaurant like La Belle Vie. Equally, my wife would have tried to second guess the chefs and modify each course. Thankfully, those days are behind us. With each course building upon the last and making you wand more, the tasting menus take you upon a journey into... More

Best restaurant north of Chicago. No other compares. I have ordered from the menu and it was excellent, but to truely experience La Belle Vie you need to order the tasting menu. It is always a fun two hour journey. For the price, it is more than reasonable. In fact, I always leave feeling I did not over pay, which... More

My partner and I chose La Belle Vie for an anniversary dinner. It was our first experience at the restaurant. We elected to eat in the lounge, it's more casual and has more energy than the main dining room. We each decided on the tasting menu from the main dining room, which is five courses along with wine pairings. The... More

We've been there several times, most recently last weekend (the Charlie Trotter memorial menu), and almost always for a birthday or anniversary celebration. For those types of events, it's ideal. We've gone with the tasting menu almost every time, which varies from time to time in degrees of adventuresomeness but is always delightful. The wine pairings with the tasting menu... More

Tim McKee lives up to all the hype as the standard for fine dining in the midwest. Understated but elegant room. Discreet and knowledgable waitstaff. Elegant tasting menus. Unmatched wine selection and pairings. Worth the trouble of getting to its remote location.

We celebrated a birthday at La Belle Vie and each had the 5 course tasting menu. Food was outstanding with beautiful presentation. Service was impeccable. Not inexpensive, but certainly worth the money for a special occasion.

Yes, the food in the restaurant is amazing, but sometimes you just want a quick cocktail that's amazing. Some of the best cocktails in the twin cities. Make sure you see Jesse at the Bar, he's awesome.

La Belle Vie is a wonderful restaurant. The space is gorgeous with the most impressive public space. The dining room is a delightful room where tables are far apart and the center is dominated by a high service table where wines may be decanted and other centralized activities may take place. The menu is fantastic. There are three tasting menu... More

We celebrated our anniversary here! The chef's tasting menu was fabulous. There was only one course that wasn't great, but overall the food was great!! The service was fabulous and we were able to have a romantic dinner without a huge crowd! This restaurant is very expensive but worth it for a special occasion!!
