Good Place for Lunch and People Watching

Steak & Mushroom Pie for me. Friend had the Reuben Special which came on some odd, difficult to handle bread. I had a Summit EPA, which was OK. Friend had Guinness. The patio is on a street corner. In nice weather, if you can get a table near the chain, you can watch lots of people walking by. Very... read more

If your in town and want a good home cooked meal you must come here and order the Pot Roast we were reading the reviews sitting in the Hyatt hotel room and just had to try it we were sick of cheap restaurant food so for some down home cooking order the POT Roast. It's a little busy in here... More

I ate at The Local for a business dinner, so our food was catered. Therefore, I can't give a great review on the food quality (although for a catered meal it wasn't bad.) The drinks were great and the service tremendous, despite the fact we were a big group. It was a really cool looking bar with unique seating spaces.... More

We were in Minneapolis for work and ended up eating here twice during our stay. The outdoor seating was nice and it does attract quite a crowd, even on a weekday. The wait staff was very nice and the food was great! Our group had the Turkey Burger, Pot Roast Sandwich, Bbq Pork Sandwich one day and we loved all... More

Best place to catch a match on a Sunday morning. My only gripe would be that the breakfast buffet doesn't start until 9... that might sound early, but not for the 7:30 match! The staff is so lovely and the owner is so personable; really just a lovely place to catch a match. The bathrooms are also always impeccably clean;... More

Service great, food uninspiring but typically substantial and filling. Nothing to write home about. Beer list is about the best I have seen with something for everyone's taste.

Our hotel made a reservation for us in advance so the restaurant knew we were coming. At 5:30pm, the restaurant was not full. Our waiter was curt, not quite rude, but very close. I asked him if everything was okay and he said he was focused because he has too many tables and we all came in too quickly. He... More

This is a fun place on Nicollet Mall to have dinner. It's an Irish Pub with a beautiful interior. There is even a kissing room in back, which can lead to some interesting people watching. I moved away from Minnesota a few years ago and I try and get Walleye every time I'm home. I had the Walleye Sandwich here... More

We headed to The Local at the recommendation of our hotel staff and were not disappointed. It was perfect weather for dining on the sidewalk patio. We loved watching the pedestrian traffic. I tried their signature drink - 2 Gingers Irish Whiskey with Ginger Ale - so refreshing. We started with the pretzels, which were soft, warm and salty (cheese... More
