Awesome place!

Wow! One of my new favorites! Great Irish Pub! Love all the private booths, little nooks and crannies with tables! Very intimate, great woodwork, and the food was fabulous!!! Can't wait to go back!

The restaurant is open all day but I stumbled in late and night. I was looking for something different and tried the Raquel - the Local's spin on turkey reuben. I love it! What set it apart was the sauce and Havarti cheese. Very good looking menu with traditional Irish fare.

I stopped in last night for drinks, apps, and dinner, and has a wonderful time. The establishment is a beautiful throwback to a to a different time when woodworking was a craft, with brass fixtures and all all around comfy atmosphere. The service was a bit slow, but not so much as to create an issue, and there was a... More

Love this bar each time I go there. Favorite Minneapolis bar. Beautiful inside, great bartenders and fun people. Bar next door, Newsroom is also good and put the Iowa State basketball game on for us.

Anywhere in this strip of downtown is worth buying a beer for just to sit outside (when its warm enough) but the Local is fabulous for gourmet pub grub and whiskey!

Food is excellent. Must try the corned beef wontons. I don't eat fish. My daughter ordered the fried cod. It smelled so good I tried it. Absolutely delicious. I had the pot roast sandwich. I loved it. The staff is great. When Jess found out we were from out of town, she brought us a local magazine to find things... More

My wife daughter and all left satisfied. Everything is fresh and prepared just right. From the fish and chips to the pot roast sandwich. If you like gorgonzola you will love this pot roast sandwich if not omit that and it still wows. We ordered the vanilla chiboust for desert. It's a vanilla custard brûlée with fresh berries. The dish... More

We had an afternoon lunch at The Local and the food and service were amazing!! I had BBQ pork and slaw sliders and the BEST Hot pretzels with beer cheese sauce and mustard ever. Of course a couple of pints of Smithwicks didn't hurt!!! I would definitely go again and it definitely has that warm, dark, Irish pub atmosphere!!!

As close to a Dublin, Shannon or Limerick drinking establishment as it could be, it ranks right there with The Black Rose in Boston or The Irish Pub in Philly. Crowded, noisy, cluttered, anti-nouveau, anti artsy ... its your basic Irish pub without the balladeer signing in the corner. (Hint to owner: replace one or 5 of your big screen... More

Had drinks and supper here while visiting a son in Minneapolis recently. Beer was well poured, good selection of drinks and supper was delicious. Will be going back again.
