I see why it's popular

The reviews were good and it was packed when we arrived, which is always a good sign. Very good pub food, the walleye fish and chips were great. The drink prices are good. The service was exceptional, especially considering how busy it was for the outdoor seating. I'll definitely be back when... read more

On our way across the river, we decided to splurge on a nice brunch to fortify ourselves for our day's activities, and would have been able to leave a half-hour earlier had the service not been so lacking. The food was excellent and reasonably priced, though I suspect my eggs were scooped out of the breakfast buffet they had open... More

My first time here was with my parents in December and we just sat at the bar and had a drink, even though we only had one drink our bartender was very attentive and told us all about the 2 Gingers Whiskey and had a great conversation with us. The next time I was in was with my boyfriend on... More

I came here with a group of people who were attending a convention in Minneapolis. The servers were very friendly and helpful with making beer recommendations. The atmosphere was pleasant and inviting. I cannot say whether it was authentically Irish. There seem to be an attempt to include some Irish food items on the menu, but I stuck with the... More

Really liked the atmosphere, great looking large wooden bar, smaller rooms of the main bar area, not too noisy, but welcoming. But when we looked at the menu, which is available on line, there wasn't much in the way of Irish food available. Fish and chips, maybe a little more. So my wife had pretzels, my daughter had carrot cake.... More

The Local is well known in Minneapolis and always busy. The staff is friendly and the food is pretty good. A suggestion - make a reservation because the place can get crowded.

This restaurant has large bars throughout the restaurant and has a real pub atmosphere. the bar food was served well and was very tasty. We went for lunch and it was quite crowded. There is also a large outdoor eating area on Nicollet Mall. Very good people watching. The sliders were tasty and the salad was also well prepared. There... More

We felt like we were back in Dublin when we walked in here, with good reason, since part of it was actually built there and shipped over. We loved the little "snugs", walled spaces that give some privacy, and they even had a little "kissing room" that we tried out (and someone caught us mid-kiss!). Great beer selection, including Irish... More

The highlight of this Pub is their outstanding woodwork throughout the expansive interior. Heavy, dark, full bodied wood creates its own atmosphere and the combination of bars, small personal dining rooms and banquet space, along with ample outdoor, sidewalk tables ( weather permitting - Minnesota, don`t cha know ? ), gives you a variety of choices for your dining preference.... We stopped here for drinks and some appetizers before a concert. We liked it so much that we went back for Sunday brunch...which was a little bit of a letdown. The service was slow and the waiter was unattentive, the buffet looked sad (we all ordered a la carte off the menu) and the food was underwhelming. BUT, the patio... More
