Sat outdoors and enjoyed drinks & Irish fare! Calamari, meatloaf, Steak& mushroom pie, pot roast, and of course, Fish&chips! Amanda was delightful. Would recommend!

Great patio and atmosphere in downtown Minneapolis! Food and service was good and average priced. Would definitely go back!

It is located in a beautiful building and has a lovely outside seating area. I was nervous about the food, but it was so delicious. We had the pot roast sandwich and the turkey burger - both were delicious. Inside the pub it is really interesting - all these private little rooms. I really enjoyed eating here and would go... More

While walking around enjoying that downtown Minneapolis area we came across The Local Irish Pub. Very nice place. Cool joint, good food, nice atmosphere. The value seemed just about spot on for the area and the type of food served. We did not partake in any adult beverages so I can not make a comment on the selection or prices.... More

I lived in Boston for awhile - Irish pubs were plentiful to say the least...and not my favorite. So I wasn't especially excited to go to the Local. But I should have been! It's somehow modern, sunlit, and cozy at the same time -- lots of different rooms and areas including a good amount of outdoor seating. Great menu, too... More

The atmosphere on the inside is something special. It seems to be a historic building that is very well maintained. They have a good selection of craft and local beers. The Irish and American cuisine is very good. They promote 2 Gingers Whiskey and I'm not sure why. It is not a top shelf whiskey in my opinion. Excellent service.... More

Can't beat the location downtown for this pub. Lots of outdoor seating and inside is huge. I think the happy hour deals for food and drink is really reasonable. I recommend the Skinny Ginger.

Good selection of imported and craft brews. Nice food selection which is prepared properly. The walleye fish and chips are a winner as is the pot roast. The local has become a regular stop for me when in downtown Minneapolis. A winner for sure.

stopped by late afternoon for beer and appetizers during Happy Hour. This restaurant is located in Nicollet Mall. An attractive pedestrian open mall with restaurant on both sides. Almost all restaurants have outdoor seating. Perhaps because of Happy Hour the place was packed with young students and locals. They have a good selection of beer on tap and the appetizers,... More

We stopped late in the evening for drinks and snacks. We weren't disappointed. The fries seemed to be hand cut and the Creamy Tomato Soup was to die for! The bowl of soup is ginormous so be prepared to eat when you order it -- you may want to share the bowl if you intend it to be a "snack"!... More
